http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4565073/

Nominate a person for next week's Veepstakes

Sen. Edward Kennedy Bob Kerrey

Gov. Tom Vilsack Sam Nunn

I guess they have no idea that the President and the VP can't be from the same state... :eyes:

3. technically, yes
the constitution forbids it.

However, when the courts ruled that Dick Cheney was really from Wyoming instead of Texas, where he had lived for years, that provision became sort of archaic.

9. Common sense also fordbids it
Then again, we could run TWO Massachusetts liberals. Just to see what happens.

4. except for
the continually ***unprecedented*** bu$hCo* (c). cheney and bu$h* from the same state until cheney "moved", not unlike moving your company to the cayman islands.

6. I would be very enthusiastic about a Kerry-Kennedy ticket
Teddy would be great, but it is also impractical and as you point out constitutionally undoable.

7. Now just hypothetically...... How much time does Teddy spend in Florida?
It's a well known fact that the Kennedy family has a huge compound in Palm Beach. What if Teddy pulled a Cheney and claimed residence there?

If Uncle Dick could get away with it, the precedent has been set.

Of course then, Shit Romney would get to nominate TWO senators, so the idea has it's bad points....

11. wow... I didn't think about that...
he would nominate 2 senators... even if it were constitutionally possible, it would make no sense whatsoever.

8. Did you read the critique of each candidate?
Nothing positive to say on any of them. It looks like it came straight from the RNC.

14. It's not like Kerry's going to choose based on that anyway.
Kerry will choose based on who will help him the most in the election and who he feels most comfortable with. And of course, picking a person who would make the best President is also important, as the VP post puts someone in prime position for the Presidency.
