Poll question: Kerry or Kennedy which Ma. Senator would you prefer as the nominee |
|
If you had a choice of John Kerry or Edward Kennedy being the Democratic nominee this year which would you prefer?

1. I feel like Ted Kennedy's been my advocate for many years. |
|
But he's probably not electable as president due to past baggage. Everyone says he's a very, very dedicated senator, though, a tireless advocate for progressive views. I'll end by saying this -- I am glad he is close friends with John Kerry and can help him.

Teddy has matured into quite a statesman, but he has a history of youthful indescretions the republicans would never let him overcome.

3. I'd prefer Teddy, of course. |
|
But then the Bush Criminal Empire would kill him, just out of habit if for no other reason. Another "trifecta" :eyes:

...but he's got so much baggage that the GOP wouldn't even have to make shit up like they're doing with Kerry.
Kerry is my preferred nominee.

7. I'm sorry to say, but the senior senator from MA is too easy of a target. |
|
With the Republicans insisting upon morality as a campaign issue, Kennedy just has too many skeletons in his closet.

That alone would be enough to kill Kennedy. Kerry is a MUCH better nominee.

And I don't even have to say (type) it. You know what it is and it is a fatal flaw to enough people that Kennedy would never get past New Hampshire.

I remember back in 1980 hoping he would get the nomination, and I was only eleven at the time. He was eloquent, outspoken, and not afraid to take a stand for what was right.
The same goes today, too. Screw the "skeletons" issue-- all he'd have to do is confront them head-on and diffuse them as a an issue the Repubs could use.
Unlike the John Kerry of the last 14 years, Teddy Kennedy is not afraid to stand up for a raise in the minimum wage. Teddy has not been afraid to take controversial stands on issues that may be "unpopular" to the Rethugs, even if he's right.
I like John Kerry, but the one I like is the one that was around before 1990.

I like Kerry too but Kennedy is better IMO. You remember how they say oh Bush hes the kind you would like to have a beer with, quite honestly lol, they cant do that to Ted, lol I would love to have a beer with Ted. Me and my pals call him "Uncle Ted" because hes sorta like an uncle to the party, nice old Irish man with a great family lol. Kennedy like his brother Bob is one of our best presidents who never were.

I love the guy but he has more political baggage than Kerry.
