Rest assure: Barack loves the Jews:
AP reports:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080314/ap_on_el_pr/obama_jewish_voters

"Barack Obama has a solid Senate record in support of Israel."

Whew, for a minute there I thought he was going whip out a Koran and start praising OBL!

Ah, "Obama's own pastor has a history of supporting Palestinian causes."

OMG! Say it aint's so!

Have no fear, though, "On the day of the Mississippi primary this week, Obama took time to call Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni to express condolences over the deadly terrorist attack on a rabbinical seminary in Jerusalem."

Mysteriously, he hasn't had much to say about all the mass shootings going on here at home the past few months. In particular the shooting of 17 students at Northern Illinois University last month. Can anyone find anything he had to say about that? He is from Illinois, isn't he?

And what about the 125 Palestinians killed in the last week or so in Gaza by Israel?

Too controversial for sure to do that. Better stick to the Civil Rights movement rather than delve into the Middle East morass.

"Obama used a speech in January at Martin Luther King Jr.'s church in Atlanta to chastise blacks for latent anti-Semitism . . .

"'You know, I would not be sitting here were it not for a whole host of Jewish-Americans who supported the civil rights movement and helped to ensure that justice was served in the South,' Obama said. 'And that coalition has frayed over time around a whole host of issues, and part of my task in this process is making sure that those lines of communication and understanding are reopened.'"

Well, that's great but what about Israel using our F-16s and Apache helicopters to blast Gaza to rubble?

"In the private meeting in Cleveland with 100 Jewish leaders last month . . . said he has other foreign policy advisers from the Clinton administration who share his belief that Israel has to remain a Jewish state with special ties to the U.S. and that the Palestinians have been irresponsible. And he said critics' e-mails never mention Lester Crown, a member of his national finance committee who is 'considered about as hawkish and tough when it comes to Israel as anybody in the country.'"

Great, now that's REAL change.

Don't worry Israel, if Obama gets in, those weapons will keep coming.

1. If you think you're going to get ANY viable presidential candidate
to take a stand that might be perceived as anti-Israel, you're sorely mistaken. There's nothing that gets certain factions of the Jewish community more up in arms than talk of equality for Palestine. Do I take it that Obama is being held to some different, unrealistic standard?

3. You're totally correct, I'm just making an observation.
