Never mind Bush's lies...let's weigh in on his waffling
This week's GOP Leadership talking points accused Kerry of shifting his positions on key issues...unlike our lovable, straight-talking pResident. On the contrary, during just the past week Bush has waffled out spectacularly on at least two issues of critical importance.

http://money.cnn.com/2004/04/20/news/economy/overtime/

Under fire for its plan to overhaul rules for overtime pay, the Bush administration has revised its proposal to protect overtime for police, firefighters and some white-collar employees earning up to $100,000 a year...
The department proposed new rules on overtime pay in March of last year, but revised them amid criticism from Democrats and some Republicans in Congress

When Bush endorsed plans last week to create a U.N.-appointed government to take power in Iraq on June 30, and left its composition in the hands of U.N. envoy Lakhdar Brahimi, he could have been reading a Kerry speech.

Kerry, a Massachusetts senator who voted to authorize the war, has criticized Bush's failure to gain more global support for the Iraq mission. But he also called last week for a partnership with the United Nations, a broader role for Brahimi and a NATO security force under U.S. command to keep order.

Democrats say Bush has reluctantly moved toward Kerry's position out of desperation as his unilateral approach faltered...

Alas...the media has allowed Bush's most recent backsliding to pass under the radar, while dutifully running the GOP talking points on Kerry, front page above the fold.

The GOP will be basing its campaign on the mythology of Bush as a decisive (if imperfect) straight shooter. The Kerry campaign thus far failed to aggressively tag Bush as the shape-shifting, hypocritical opportunist that he is. Let's get cracking on this!

Other examples?
