What is Important to you in this election??
I'll give you a few things that are important to me and none of them include Reverend Wright, Geraldine Ferraro, Governor Spitzer, etc.

1. The Economy - gas prices, food prices, the Housing Market are all problems in this country, but we are too busy worrying about people associated with Clinton/Obama to talk about these issues.

2. The War - this may go back to the economy, but how exactly are we paying for this war?? Where is this money coming from?? Because wherever I go, cities/towns/states are in a budget crisis. Plus, I have a sister in the Air Force with 2 young children. I'm scared everyday that she may have to leave them and go to Iraq. This war is unfair and unjust and we must stop it immediately.

3. The Supreme Court - if you want another justice like Roberts or Scalia, make sure you don't vote for the Democratic Candidate in the next election - whoever it is.

Please let's stop this infighting. Both candidates are good people and both would be good for this country. We are so lucky to have either of them in our party and fighting to become our next President!!

6. Get me out of this war, effectively and safely
I'm eager to wash my hands of this debacle, but I don't want a halfassed rush job. As Obama has said many times "We should be as careful getting out as we were careless in getting in."

8. I think the war is the economic problem in this country
If we didn't go to war, we would have money in this country to take care of our own people. I'm sick of this war. I want it over NOW!

15. a waste of resources on so many levels
Even if we were still going to use it for military purposes we could have a meaningful presence in Afghanistan right now. If we're going to spend our capital on something at least let it be effective.

Guess we get to live part of that history all over again

I have been here for years and never seen it this bad but it also figures most of the provocative ones will leave DU just as soon as the primary is over.

13. Important.......
1. The Economy

Cant be fixed by the same people who helped create this mess by being too cozy with the corporations.

That means Hillary is disqualified, as she's been too close to corporations as Senator, and her husband's policies helped create the pro-business enviroment that has led to the current economic issues by removing the barriers FDR created in dealing with the depression that allowed huge consolodation within the financial/insurance industries.

Leading up to the coming collapse of our financial system, just the reason FDR thought the financial industry needed to be kept from consolidation.

But Clinton allowed the corporations to dictate policy, so here we are again.

Then theres NAFTA, MFN trading status and entry into the WTO for China thats forced the Chinese to now compete directly with us for energy resources (leading to the high oil prices we have today), Telecom deregulation, and so much more I dont feel like covering now.

As you can see, #1 is THE big reason not to vote for another Clinton at this time.

18. I haven't chosen who I'm voting for yet . . .
But, I always remember what Bill Clinton said - it takes a Clinton to clean up after a Bush. Like I said, either candidate will be better than what we have now and John McCain (Bush III)

17. All very important issues.
If it was my choice I would get us out of Iraq first. It is draining our economy our children and our children's future along with the future of those poor Iraqi's.

Economy is a pretty big mess. We are riding a unicycle on the edge of the Grand Canyon. It will be a much much harder issue to deal with and you cannot deal with it until we are out of Iraq.

The supreme court will come if we get a Democrat for a president.

22. That an Open Government Democrat gets into the White House for a change. Closed government
has led us directly to everything bad going on today from war on terror to Supreme Court to our anti-labor, pro-corporate economy.

It would be a completely different world if we had a president in office who sided with the Anerican CITIZEN and our rights to open government accountable to the people instead of continuing to side with the secrecy and privilege of BushInc and the powerful elite.
