I thought we had somewhat moved beyond that. I knew it would come up a little but nothing like this. When I see the MSM breaking out voters by race and gender I wanna scream. Here's hoping there will be a time when the color of ones skin, or whats dangling around under ones clothes, doesn't matter anymore.

as if it ever did.

3. Not surprised at all
It is the reason why a lot of black people didn't support Obama at first.

4. It was inevitable, but it has shown us just how little progress has been made by many on the left.
Now we know something we didn't before (or were afraid to face)...that we can be as ignorant as the Right on such issues, and many are willing to use both to further their own agenda without really caring about either issue at all.

5. We're not going to move beyond it until we move through it
As painful as it is, these debates are a necessary part of this journey.

Some people think that if we ignore it, don't speak of it, don't think of it, it will go away and we'll all find our way to the Promised Land. Well, in truth, those people think that if BLACK people and FEMALE people ignore it, don't speak of it so that WHITE people and MALE people don't have to think of it, we will all find our way to the Promised Land.

But, in reality, we can't get past race and gender until we address race and gender. That's what's going on now.

Condescension is condescension, bias is bias.
