Reverends Gone Wild
Edited on Fri Mar-14-08 04:16 PM by The Night Owl
So, I'm watching a video clip of this Reverend Wright asshole standing in front of his congregation simulating fellatio to make an analogy about what he thinks the Clintons have been doing to the black community. This is unbelievable stuff. Anyone who thinks that a presidential candidacy can survive an association with a character like Wright is profoundly delusional.

I'm at the point now where I really question Barack Obama's judgment. Obama strikes me as a candidate who is utterly oblivious to the types of things which can torpedo his candidacy. Even if Obama doesn't take Reverend Wright seriously, how does he not realize that he needs to not only distance himself from the crazed Reverend but that he needs to throw the guy under the bus? How? I'll tell you how. Barack Obama has a lack of situational awareness.

The good news is that even though Barack Obama can't save his candidacy, he can at least save his political future, but only if he leaves that crazy church he belongs to while flipping it the bird.

1. Do you have a link
I haven't seen anything about the Clinton's, so I would like to see it before I comment on your incredibly outrageous post.

Did you really believe that foul displays are beneath Rev. Wright? Religious crackpots are capable of anything.

6. I couldn't care less about what a religious zealot like Reverend Wright believes the Clintons did.
What I care about is us winning the presidency in 2008 and we can't do it with an asshole like Wright attached to our nominee.

7. Obama has made some rather strong
statements renouncing Rev. Wright, so why are you still so upset. If Obama is your candadate, then relax, this isn't going to bring him down.

Barack Obama has issued statements of praise and condemnation for Rev. Wright. What he should have done is issue statements of condemnation.

Anyway, I plan to vote for whoever the Democratic nominee is, but I have always felt that Hillary Clinton is a slightly stronger candidate than Barack Obama.

2. I agree with Rev. Wright -- the Clintons HAVE been "doing that"
to the black community. Accepting the moniker of "first black president"
while advocating welfare reform. Saying they "feel your pain" while allowing
corporate power (especially in the important area of media ownership) to
be consolidated in the hands of fewer and fewer people (some of whom are
prominent donors to the Clinton library and Clinton 08 campaign).

Yep, the way he said it may have been vulgar, but what has been done to the
black community -- taking it largely FOR GRANTED when it comes to elections --
is far worse IMHO.

4. You can agree with Rev. Wright all you want as long as you don't...
You can agree with Rev. Wright all you want as long as you don't delude yourself into thinking that Barack Obama can win the presidency at this point.
