Obama to appear on Hannity and Colmes to discuss Wright (that is brave!) |
|
I just read it on this diary: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/3/14/163727/763/249/476734Commenter Slinkerwink says he just heard it on Fox News: http://www.dailykos.com/comments/2008/3/14/163727/763/33#c33In general, I don't care for Dems appearing on Fox News. However, in this case, it is entirely appropriate to go directly to the source of the firestorm and address it. Also, don't miss Obama's piece in the HuffPo on Wright: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/barack-obama/on-my-faith-and-my-church_b_91623.html

No offense to Obama, but Hannity is just such a fucking lightweight. I hope Obama takes him apart.

That freakin Hannity is the biggest Dem hater around..along with coulter,limbaugh,beck......oh never mind. ALL the repuke freaks on tv and radio hate Dems. Hannity probably won't give Obama time to get his side of the story out..he's so good at interrupting everyone he disagrees with.

7. Well, we'll see in what format. I've seen Kerry on the show, and it ended |
|
up being a taped sit down interview with Colmes.
At this point, we don't know how it is being done. But our Dems are witty and quick, and they can take Hannity any day of the week.

33. Well, I'd prefer that Dems not go on RW trash shows at all, you are missing the point. |
|
First of all - my understanding is the Bill did NOT actually appear on Rush's show, no?
In any case - Rush was actively supporting people voting for Hillary when Bill allegedly went on the Rush show.
Obama is going to to be increasing exposure to his own negatives by going on such an unfriendly forum to beat this beast back.
If you look at it in a superficial way, yea, I guess it's hypocritical, but I think they are fairly different gestures. Trying to recruit Freepers to cross over is different in kind than going to the most unfriendly forum to fight off (hopefully) the worst skeleton in your closet.

8. Well, this post isn't really about Hillary. It's about Obama addressing something he |
|
needed to address. I was moved by his HuffPo post, and would like to see how he does in a more hostile environment answering tough questions.

23. Yes, it should be interesting. I do think it's alsointeresting to consider how Hillary would handle |
|
a similar situation.
I really don't think she would have the intestinal fortitude to take on a RW zealot like Hannity. I'm not saying she wouldn't address her critics, but it would be more likely to be done by letting Katie Couric or Barbara Walters ask the questions. That's my only point.

I love the sign guy. I think that was at the 2004 Democratic Convention, IIRC!
(Apparently it was taken during the Lamont-Lieberman election. I have issues today! :-))

42. Having supported Hillary, I really hope he pulls it off! |
|
Last month I phone banked, and sealed a ton of enevlopes for her campaign. On March 4th I voted for her, and that evening I went to support her in my precinct's caucus. I still want her to win our nomination.
However, I've said before, if she doesn't take the nomination Senator Obama has both my vote and support in the GE. I don't support anything that attacks our party candidates.. either of them, especially from the right wingers. I do hope he goes on there, locks horns, puts them in their place, and does it with the speaking style and dignity that he's become so well known, and liked for.
