What a wonderful lesson this manufactured preacher non-event has taught
Through this faux outrage my understanding of Barack Obama has become clearer.

I'll preface this by saying the following: One of the fundamental weakness of US foreign policy is the double standard with which we treat the rest of the world. The most odious symptom of this is when we decide whether a particular leader is worth talking to. The tendency to isolate them, and apply economic pressure in service of political ends is the basic problem that underlies all others.

While we perform the worst of international crimes on a daily basis, we accuse countries like Venezuela of financing terror. It is so upside-down logically that it gives me a headache thinking about it.

Barack Obama has understood this to be a problem with our policy. That was the reason he signaled his openness to engage in dialog with some of the more difficult leaders of countries. In his personal life he apparently practices the same philosophy. He openly speaks with and listens to ALL viewpoints. It is a humble approach, one based on consensus and collaboration as opposed to hierarchical dictates...just like his campaign.

I like this a lot.

2. I don't think that Wright is totally wrong.
He just said it at an inconvenient time for Obama. The Japanese did not attack us for no reason at all. There is a reason for all attacks.

4. You can only speak the truth to intelligent people.
You have to lie to ignorant people.

5. I feel confident in his ability to dispell the negative impact.
I don't think either Hillary or the RW is going to be able to knock him out.
