Imagine If We'd Voted For The Real Qualified People
you know, the guys who have brought change THROUGH experience

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/f1/Joe_Biden,_official_photo_portrait_2.jpg/397px-Joe_Biden,_official_photo_portrait_2.jpg

we wouldn't be worried about headlines about weird preachers, or business associates, or former VP nominees gone racist insane, we wouldn't be worried about all this he said/she said stuff

instead, the only thing we'd be worried about is how quickly we want to accept the republicans surrender. not to be snarky, but WE TOLD YOU SO.

many of us never got a chance to vote for the ones we wanted, another election where they pick our candidate and we have to settle for less than what we wanted.

the captive MSM, and many telecoms support the DLC-this is a must read thread link about TPTB that took out 6 of the 8 Democratic candidates, just as it has neutralized the new leadership elected in the 2006 midterm from acting on the urgent messages sent by we the people

7. I supported Joe Biden
edwards was my second choice

I made a thread when he basically got ran out of town because I saw edwards getting the joe biden treatment.

I'd like to see edwards run for DNC chair when howard dean steps down. I think he'd be a great choice and would do so much good there.

So yeah, we could have done a lot freaking better.

All we can hope is that we put enough pressure on our nominee to actually lay out a progressive agenda.

john edwards impressed me this campaign season. I didn't like him in 2004. he did a good job and got screwed.

I was Gore/Biden/Edwards

it kinda seems like the more qualified the candidate the earlier on they got knocked out.

5. well they probably have some embarassing connection too
:eyes:

disqualifying is fraud, stealing, serious lying (not fibbing/politicking), etc.

not...THIS. if i didn't think that every candidate out there had a connection just as bad it might carry some weight with me, but i do think that.

politics makes for strange bedfellows. i mean, you do expect him to be a politician, don't you? i mean, if he weren't then you'd worry because he didn't know how to win, right?

shaking my head. others are losing theirs.

23. Is he a racist? Kerry lost because he was a bad candidate and got swiftboated
The solution the party is deciding on is selecting someone who will get swiftboated as racist against three out of four voters and somehow expecting to win.

and I thought Dean would have been better than Kerry, but I'm a deaniac.

and Kerry was a bit too timid for my liking, but he did get screwed quite readily by the MSM. same as obama and clinton camps are.

in january, this election is in the bag. now, I dunno how it can be won. I'm just thankful the democratic party will have a larger majority in congress and in local governments, but the white house is I dunno...

too much bad blood, too much baggage from the two.

39. Kerry won because he was a fine candidate with a LOUSY DNC that never secured the election process
even after 2000's blatant theft.

Terry McAuliffe's DNC stewardship made sure the RNC had all the room it needed to steal another election for Bush.

22. No kidding
I think the candidates like obama should be thankful biden didn't uncork on them early on. he ran a clean campaign because he didn't want to give the republicans any ammo and paid for it.

if biden had wanted to, he could easily have humiliated them in the debates about their lack of knowledge in foreign policy and the judiciary.

24. How is the war-monger Biden acceptable?
Biden has voted to blindly authorize every repuke military action in the past 25 years including back with Reagan's idiotic Panama and Grenada invasions. He's a hawk worse than even Clinton.

34. Biden has been in the Senate since 1973.
it is time for him to go. It has been frustrating watching him all these years giving Reagan and Bush everything they wanted. Over the years, he has managed to make amazingly passionate speeches denouncing the repuke agenda, not unlike his colleague Arlen Specter, but then when it comes to voting time, he went along with them time after time. As a PA resident, my state is a neighbor to Delaware, so he has gotten alot of press around here over the years since Philly essentially does the news for Delaware.

My support for Dennis was mainly because of his having the balls to get up there and introduce articles of impeachment, fighting tooth and nail against his own party who continues to block that effort.

35. Biden has been around a while
and has the record of success in passing legislation to help people.

hell, biden's record on women is far better than kooch the mooch's

at least he didn't have to wait till he decided to run for president like dennis did to have an epiphany to support a woman's right to control her body

this is why no one took kooch supporters seriously. its not just about getting out of iraq, getting troops out is the beginning. making sure theres political reconciliation amongst the various factions in iraq so the shia don't start slaughtering sunnis is a whole other matter. kooch has no plans to deal with al qaeda or the taliban. kooch has no plans to handle the market. the only thing kooch has done is say "impeach bush" and campaign in states with the best weather for his trophy wife to go sunbathing.

40. I believe Kucinich was in there more for plank purposes...
I don't believe that he was seriously attempting to be President but to at least make sure the voice of supporters of the more liberal part of the Democratic party could be heard. He interestingly votes against bills if they don't go far enough (from the left perspective) to register a protest-type vote.

Biden, IMHO, takes himself too seriously and unfortunately, he has a problem of not thinking before speaking. On too many occasions, he has spewed paternalistic swipes such as (in reference to Obama):

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy ... I mean, that's a storybook, man."

Last year he was quoted as saying:

“...You can not enter a 7-11 or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have an Indian accent.”

And he spouted other nonsense in comparing white Iowa with black D.C. school perfornance like:

There's less than one percent of the population of Iowa that is African American. There is probably less than four of five percent that are minorities. What is in Washington? So look, it goes back to what you start off with, what you're dealing with."

"When you have children coming from dysfunctional homes, when you have children coming from homes where there's no books, where the mother from the time they're born doesn't talk to them — as opposed to the mother in Iowa who's sitting out there and talks to them, the kid starts out with a 300 word larger vocabulary at age three. Half this education gap exists before the kid steps foot in the classroom,"

This is not much different from the garbage spewed from the Clinton campaign and unfortunately, the media keeps laughing it off justifying this as a "well that's just Joe", but this was not the first time and I'm sorry, I have absolutely no respect for this man.

41. Kucinich was there for free lunches
he put no serious effort into it, which means anyone who even mentions his name for president shouldn't be taken seriously.

joe takes himself and things seriously because real politics IS a serious business. its not some little man in a suit thats too big with a trophy wife getting people to pay for them to fly around the country on a vacation while he's never done anything in congress.

theres a reason no one takes kucinich and his supporters seriously, and its not something they can pawn off as all the MSM's fault.

33. BULLSHIT!!
Obama is as qualified as any of these guys. I initially wanted Kucinich, but since he quit, Obama was my choice. Not Biden or Richardson. Neither of those guys could stir up any type of vision to lead America. Nor would they indicate their desire to END THIS FUCKING WAR. This preacher business is a ploy to try and create negative buzz against Obama. Nothing more or less really. It's desperation, and I believe the voters will see through it. Enough of the "See I told you so" crap. Obama will be our nominee. Time to get onboard people.
