WHY DO REPUBLICANS ALWAYS TELL KERRY TO DEBATE HIMSELF?
Edited on Sat Apr-24-04 09:41 AM by powergirl
This seems to be the party line/RNC talking points. About 2 weeks ago, a reporter asked Mark Racicot (Chair of Bush campaign, I think) if Bush will debate Kerry anytime soon. Mr. Racicot, said "Kerry should debate himself since he's such a flip flopper." Then yesterday, I was listenting to some freeper talk show (why do I torture myself) and this local Dallas host said the EXACT SAME THING. So, is this the "I know you are so what am I" response to any challenges? The Democrats need to seize upon these stupid comments and make ads about them to show who the adults are in this contest.

1. They could just run
the Daily Show's Bush v. Bush "debate".

THAT would shut them up right quick!!!

3. I wish Kerry would take that on.

Kerry frequently challenges Bush to debates, but the challenge is too boring. Instead of (conventionally and boringly) saying "I challenge the president to a series of debates on national issues," I wish Kerry would say something like the following:

"Look, Bush's people like to hide from my debate challenges by saying I should debate myself. That was funny until I'd heard it the tenth time. But then the question is still out there for all to see, isn't it? The question is, 'Where is George?'"

"George Bush's people talk a good game for him. That's true. But why does Mr. Bush hide behind his people so much? Maybe George Bush has been debating himself, and the chicken side won."
