Media whores and Kerry's medals/ribbons
It just doesn't surprise me anymore.
ABC showed video this morning that they "dug up" from a 1971 cable show where Kerry said he had thrown back "6,7,8,or 9" medals...or wait...was it...ribbons?....
...then Charlie Gibson tries to get "an admission gotcha" in a live interview with Kerry that he had changed his story....were they ribbons, were they medals???....oh, my God.....what were they....? the nation hangs in the balance...
....Jeez....just incredible....Kerry did okay with it...but, Gibson just wouldn't accept his answer that he threw away ribbons and kept his medals.....meanwhile, Iraq burns...
...and, oh yes, Jacko has dumped his defense team....and what about that American Idol voting controversy.....and, so it goes....

1. That Charlie Gibson interview was despicable
I am sure Charlie will have Bush on and be as fierce in his questioning of his military record (or more precisely, the lack thereof).

2. Charlie Gibson was relentless,
but Kerry gave him hell. I think Kerry did a great job telling Gibson that the REAL issues at hand are not medals and ribbons but healthcare, etc. Go Kerry. A couple of weeks ago I was voting for Kerry because he isn't Bush, but I am beginning to have a little more confidence in him. I admire that he was willing to address that issue with Charlie Gibson and not try to just evade the issue.

3. and yet, Bush's dental records are accepted by the whores as a war record
and the whores accept bush's dental records as proof of him serving in war. meanwhile they know what kerry did but take apart every little thing such as "but how big or deep were the war wounds" and other disgusting crap. but it's to be expected and i'm sure kerry knows that.

4. I saw that. Kerry was pissed enough to say (for the first time,I think)
something like "Bush has not told us whether he served his duty". That is significant. Earlier Kerry would indicate something like "Bush's record speaks for itself", or something more benign. Rove and Co. lose on this one when Kerry comes out tough on this.

7. Kerry's Biggest problem...
is that he is not defining himself. I mean come on, what do you expect the voters to do when he keeps giving answers the way he does on questions. The response to the 87 Billion was inaddequate. "I voted for it before I voted against it"? He's playing into the Waffle house view. Beyond that he is trying to campaign as a moderate. He hasn't voted as a moderate. It's time for liberals to stand up and admit the are proudly a liberal. Someone on the Kerry team screwed the pooch on the medals thing too. No need to give more ammo to the enemy. Someone needs to smack him on the head and say "HAY SENATOR, just because the issue seems insignificant doesn't mean you can stretch the truth, 24 hour news won't allow it... SO STOP IT or bush wins in November" and "try defining yourself instead of giving vague explanations of your stances" "explain them in better detail" "send operatives to every talk show every sunday morning to explain yourself" "Bush's numbers show he's vulnerable so STAND UP AND BE YOURSELF"

That is all

8. email info for GMA
Here's the email link for GMA. I just sent them a nice note to tell them what I thought of Chuckie Gibson's attempt to channel Bill O'Reilly this morning.

9. It is an absurd story to cover. His actions were symbolic and
ribbons can be purchased for a buck or two at any uniform shop. IT'S NO BIG DEAL.

11. I sent an e-mail to Gibson
questioning what he did to serve his country. He graduated in 1965 from Princeton, and I can find no record of any service at all. Did he manage to dodge the draft? (He's listed as a resident of Evanston, Illinois, so he probably had the resources to do it) Are these people threatened or embarrassed by Kerry?

Also, what is Chris Vlasto's (ABC) story? Josh Marshall seems to be implying something in his latest post. From the little I could dig up Vlasto sounds like he's been very helpful to the RNC--editing a Hillary Clinton interview about the Rose Law Firm to be misleading, developing the abuse story about Howard Dean's trouper.

If these people can go after Kerry we have every right to examine their backgrounds and find out what their motivations are.

From talking points memo:

"ABC News is currently running a web headline which reads: "Medal Dispute, EXCLUSIVE: Did Kerry lie about Vietnam War medals?"

Here's a question. Can someone tell me the last time ABC used the "L" word about President Bush? Or is it always 'exaggeration' when it's President Bush?

And yes, I noticed Chris Vlasto's name too."
