Hillary's Week From Hell: Spitzer and Ferarro

Spitzer has brought up Monica again.

It's been a week from Hell for Hillary and the Democrats. Arch supporter, Eliot Spitzer was caught frequenting prostitute Ashley Dupres above, and resigned with indecent haste. So did her fundraising honcho, Geraldine Ferraro, who made a blatantly reverse-racism statement that said Obama was only ahead because he had an advantage as an African-American. Spitzer is obviously a sleazebag and Ferraro, a failed politico herself, an envious and churlish woman whose statement simply dismissed Obama's impressive base of support, IQ or charisma.

Both were attacked for moral shortages and both caved into resignations because of the damage they could have done to Hillary and Bill's bid for the White House.

Timing is never great when you are caught with your pants down, but Spitzer's collar was a problem because his immorality and hypocrisy were identical to Slick Willy's misdeeds of years before with his "big hair" intern. Difference was that Bill was able to lie for months about his behaviour until the outrage subsided and the DNA samples from the dress stain were ordered by a court.

Spitzer, on the other hand, was taped by police organizing his tryst and faced insurmountable evidence of wrongdoing.

Even so, I'm sure he would have stonewalled like Bill Clinton did if he could have but not during a hotly contested presidential primary among his fellow Democrats.

The timing, and its negative impact on his friend Hillary’s campaign, played a role in leading him to uncharacteristically retreat from his normal combativeness. He even resigned before he had a firm legal deal in hand.

The point is that for him to have continued in office, embattled by the press for weeks, would have hurt Democrats in general and Hillary in particular. As it was, she virtually disappeared for 24 hours from view in order to let the news die down somewhat and to avoid questioning which would draw the comparison to Bill's shenanigans.

Says in my paper, right here, she may be the biggest loser of this entire race.
She has wasted $135 Million dollars just to get to say that Obama is welcome to be her Vice President, yet he leads her in the delegate count.
