Guess what. We NEED division to heal the problems the right-wing created for us

I'm so sick of hearing about preaching the politics of "healing" that I could barf.

George Walker Bush, perennial failure, was appointed President by a partisan (guess what, it's MORE partisan now) Supreme Court and he set about dismantling all the freedoms and checks and balances that made this country what it was before he got there.

He (and his crackpot "Project for a New Century" zealots) were already planning to attack Iraq for its oil in FEBRUARY of 2001 (that's why Cheney fought to keep the secret energy meetings under wraps).

He (and his Armageddon lusting religious insane freaks) ignored constant warnings about bin Laden and then he used the attack like his own private Riechstag fire to push a unitary Executive to further the plans of the PNAC creeps and Iran/Contra felons in illegitimate control of the government.

He (and his "we'll show you how we can make sure the government doesn't work for you" corporate whore friends) have attacked every single piece of what we consider to be the "common trust" of our nation.

Republicans need to be replaced, driven from office, and the politics of "god, guns, and gays" completely repudiated throughout the election cycle and by the next Democratic administration (provided Donna Brazile, Raum Emanuel, and the DLC surrender monkeys don't completely hamstring the Democratic Party before then).

What we don't need is some smooth-talking Reagan acolyte telling us we're going to put all this behind us and all get together in some big Kumbaya hug and it's all of a sudden just going to be all better because we say the word "change" over and over again.

It's not going to be alright if we just adjust to the status quo.

We have lost a lot during the past seven years of the Poseur Prince and his PNAC Court.

We are going to have to fight like hell to get even some of it back.

Destroyed civil liberties, government spying, unitary executive, secrecy in government - once in place they are not just going to "go away."

The tax structure in place under the Clinton administration has to be put back in place (better the tax structure under Kennedy or earlier) so we can restore some sense of fiscal responsibility in our government.

I don't hear anything from the spineless already elected Democrats or in the message of "healing" being touted by wannabes to indicate that we are gearing up to fight tooth and nail to take back our government, our civil liberties, our global environment, or our separation of church and state from the nutball religio-corporate freaks that took it from us.

I only hear about healing "division" and moving on.

I'm not moving on.

The Republicans took my country, my civil liberties, my environment, my public trust, my education, my wild places, my wolves, my parks, my sky, my water, my protection from corporate oppression, my political heritage, and the legacy of the founders of my nation, and they burned it all of the pyre of their ambition.

I want it back, and I'm not "healed" until I get it.

1. perhaps,
but we're not going to get division from those who control our party, outside of Dean.

2. We need division since Bill Clinton made Democratic = republican.
Time to wrest ourselves away from the rotten republicans and DINOs and start fixing this country.

3. Yes, we are going to have to fight like hell...
Otherwise, the true "racists" will walk all over us. These fake patriots like to accuse others of guilt by association. Obama should have walked out of that church when no one else was walking out? The "racism" that some perceive in Rev Wright's remarks cannot hold a light to the crimes and racism committed by this Administration and its supporters. And that includes Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. They have been enablers all along.

5. I agree. We have to discredit conservatism and the GOP ideas
We should clean out every single GOP appointee, investigate every single one of their scandals, and not rest until the jails are filled with these scumbags.

Even at the time, I didn't like the speech Obama gave at the convention I had a problem with the unity theme. Sharpton's fiery speech was so much better but got no coverage.

6. Sharpton definitely went "off script" at the convention

He probably had one of the best speeches there. Even Kucinich caved to unity in some respects.

7. We didn't see it then, but that probably was the beginning of the end right there,
We should learn from this and be almost as hateful as the other side this time. The rule should be hammer, hammer, hammer in every single speech.

And Obama has painted himself into the corner on this and won't be able to be that partisan, especially now.

8. If we don't fight as hard as they do, we're sunk

Obama won't be able to get us out of the corner we've been painted into with talk about "healing" alone.
