Do people still think Obama is conservative?

I'm curious if the people who kept trying to point Obama as a conservative feel the same way after the campaign has continued and in the light of the Rev. Wright comments getting more attention.

I saw a lot of guilt by association games when the Edwards campaign tried to do an online underground swift boating of Obama painting him as a conservative. Do the same guilt by association games apply here? Does this make Obama a radical left winger?

Left leaning conservative centrist with radical ties to a conservative religion with a history of activism (and he still might be a Muslim) and no connection to deeply held American principles. He's too black to be white, too white to be black.

He's doomed, it's just all too confusing. Give up. Run away.

9. Actually, I do feel he is, at least compared to me.

he's not "A" conservative in the right wing sense, but he is a very safe pick policy wise, as is Hillary. To me that's being conservative, especially at a time in history when we need some daring leadership. But America isn't ready for THAT particular conversation yet. Maybe when Miami is a few feet under water we'll get around to it.

His basic principles seem liberal to me. His organizing approach is of the left. But he can take moderate stances when it works best to get something done. Basically, he is a pragmatic idealist and is about problem-solving. Not so easy to label, which is something I like about him.

in advance of the primary because she knew it would be necessary. And Obama uses themes that appeal to moderates because he knows a real liberal has to do that to get elected. But if you think both candidates are the same then I think you missed something about one or both of them.
