How will Hillary respond to the new NYT article stating most SD will go with pledged delegate winner
For Democrats, Increased Fears of a Long Fight
March 16, 2008

While many superdelegates said they intended to keep their options open as the race continued to play out over the next three months, the interviews suggested that the playing field was tilting slightly toward Mr. Obama in one potentially vital respect. Many of them said that in deciding whom to support, they would adopt what Mr. Obama’s campaign has advocated as the essential principle: reflecting the will of the voters.

Mr. Obama has won more states, a greater share of the popular vote and more pledged delegates than Mrs. Clinton.

A New York Times survey of superdelegates last week found that Mr. Obama had been winning over more of them recently than Mrs. Clinton had, though Mrs. Clinton retained an overall lead among those who have made a choice. Over the past month, according to the survey, Mr. Obama, of Illinois, picked up 54 superdelegates; Mrs. Clinton, of New York, picked up 31.

“If we get to the end and Senator Obama has won more states, has more delegates and more popular vote,” said Representative Jason Altmire, Democrat of Pennsylvania, who is undecided, “I would need some sort of rationale for why at that point any superdelegate would go the other way, seeing that the people have spoken.”

Please tell us your end game Senator Clinton. How are you expecting to win?

at 60% victories, she won't overcome the pledged delegate lead, even if she wins the rest of the contests with 51%.

None of those things are going to happen, either.

7. I won't pretend to be her
but my response is that your headline isn't what the article says. It states that they will follow pledged delegates, states won, AND THE POPULAR VOTE. If she is leading in the last category while he leads in the first two, then all bets are off. As a Clinton supporter I would call on her to quit if Obama is ahead in all three.

14. that is without FL or MI which should either revote or be counted toward her PV
It is one thing to refuse to seat delegates but quite another to refuse to take into account that they actually did vote for her. Florida was race conducted under the same rules for all while Michigan wasn't. Ideally, I think FL should be counted as is and MI revote. I can live with revotes for both. But failing that she should at least get credit for the votes she got with Obama getting the uncommitted ones in MI and his in FL.

45. I don't agree
I don't think the Fl delegates should be seated as is because a campaign can really change the race. Look at what happened in Ohio & Texas, Hillary was ahead by 20 but by campaigning Obama cut that lead down to 3-10 points. So I wouldn't mind a revote in MI or FL but it would have to be one where the candidates can campaign.

However, I don't see what the big deal is about needing a revote. The reality is in most primaries the votes of the last 20 states to vote don't matter. Here in Indiana this will probably be the first and last state where my vote in the primary matters. I don't see why FL and MI are getting into such a huff, it isn't like not having your vote matter in the primary is something new. I'm not opposed to a revote, just don't understand why people seem to think it is 'disenfranchising' when most every state after super tuesday has an irrelevant vote in most elections.

48. I also disagree.
There should be a re-vote in both places.

All the candidates agreed that the votes in those states wouldn't count. Obviously, a lot of people stayed home, just as GOP voters are staying home now; it doesn't matter, anymore.

49. blah blah blah
Even with a revote FL doesn't do near enough for her and MI is at best a tie. Even this red herring is pointless. The election is over but no one will call it because Hillary's last name is Clinton.

58. wow a real thought
i am a floridian and i think you are on to something
allot floridas proportionally by poll results
we had everyone on our ballots i cant contest that fact
but we did break the rules at the state party level
so in fairness do not seat floridas super delagates
since as party officials they caused the problem
as for mi i again agree
the ballot was unfair as it was the soviet style one candidate ballot
so let them revote
and suspend also their superdelagates
as they too are the ones who tried to break the dnc rules
and the dnc needs to make fl pay for half of mi revote as a punishment
i can live with this myself

go obama

but since they are spineless they will go to obama, and this is a good thing.

The math is very much against her. There are 10 contests left and she needs 64% wins in every one to catch up in pledged delegates. If Michigan revotes the game becomes even more in Obama's favor. I don't see why they are delaying the inevitable.

They can both run to the convention because SD's can change there mind all the way to the convention. And for the record, both candidates can stay in the race to the convention because neither candidate can obtain 2024 delegates.
