Seems that Barack's net gain in Iowa might be 10
Edited on Sat Mar-15-08 10:23 PM by thevoiceofreason
Just saw this on the kos:

A pretty stunning gain out of Iowa for Obama, where an Iowa Democratic official confirmed to me just now that the county convention results will translate into a 25-14-6 edge for Obama over Clinton and Edwards.

That's a gain of nine for the Illinois Senator over the results reported in January, while Clinton lost one delegate. (Edwards lost eight).

"This is supposed to come from Ben Smith's blog on politico:

http://www.politico.com/"

"That right, that is plus 10 gain for Obama. And Smith observes that HIllary's attack might have backfired on her:

It's a welcome -- and meaningful -- gain for Obama on a tough weekend, and a result both of his long, hard work in Iowa and of a situation in which Clinton's attacks seem to be turning off party activists.
UPDATE: Also, as wuck pointed out in the comment section, now Obama claims plus 10 as well:

Obama Nets Ten Delegates In Iowa

CHICAGO – Obama for America campaign manager David Plouffe today released the following statement on the results of the Iowa county conventions:

"Iowans went to the county conventions today to make clear that they want a Democratic nominee who will bring real change to this country and who will be the strongest candidate against John McCain. With all of the results in, Senator Obama earned 25 delegates, while Senator Clinton earned 14. Senator Obama netted ten delegates tonight. For comparison purposes, Senator Clinton netted nine delegates in Ohio." "

Sorry to so baltantly copy from another, but it's big news.

1. Clinton's attacks seem to be turning off party activists...indeed!
The grass roots aren't too keen on the ClintonInc "scorched earth" strategy.

2. God bless Iowa!
It hurts walking over scorched earth. In Texas, the word is she might try to delay the senate district conventions. I'm on the legal team that is ready to shove that up garry mauro's ass.

Gobama!

6. Thanks voiceofreason.
From what I heard, the Obama ground game in TX was A+ and the Clinton Camp is still reeling.

Keep on fighting the good fight!

8. It's pretty damn funny as we pull the teeth from the Clinton paper tigers
Edited on Sat Mar-15-08 10:54 PM by thevoiceofreason
We were very prepared for our precinct conventions (I'm a precinct chair, so it was old hat for me). I insisted that a Clinton person be the secretary of our convention so there could be no down the line recriminations. Worked like a charm. Fair, above board, and successful. Once you eliminate the "Rush democrats," Texas is Obama land.

3. clinton's scortched earth policy on Dems
needs to go down in infamy never to be used again. They'll need to make special party rules just to take care of future clinton types.

20. And McAuliffe trying to kneecap Dean won't endear them to activists, either.
The Clintonistas think they can turn back the clock to the pre-netroots days, but it won't work.

14. This really starts to put it out of reach for her, Now she needs like
345 out of the remaing 334 Super delegates if they break 50/50 in the rest of the contests.

She can't beat the math, especially when she is turning off the activists and Super Delegates.

24. This is wonderful news to cap off the night. I admit I was worried...
that the Wright flap might undermine support today but I'm so pleased to see it's been just the opposite.

Iowans had a year to get to know Obama. And it's clear they value what they know.
