I was just wondering if the DU community feels like Hillary Clinton has run an uplifting campaign that has appealed to humanity's better nature. I just wonder if you think that Hillary Clinton's campaign has been run in such a way that focuses only on the issues and the specific policy differences between her and her opponents. I'm just wondering if DU thinks that Hillary has one of the more clean or one of the more dirty campaigns in modern presidential politics. I just wonder if DU thinks that Hillary Clinton has run a campaign similar to that John Edwards, as the challenger, ran against John Kerry in 2004? I'm just wondering if DU would say that Hillary Clinton has run a campaign right from the start that didn't engage in unfair attacks. In short, has Hillary Clinton run a campaign that all of us, as members of the democratic base, can be proud of?
I know that I have a resounding answer to all of the questions above. I'm sure you all do as well.

Well, if you follow the campaign and not the MSM, it's been wonderful |

Of course, DUers are getting a steady diet of shit.

4. I disagree with you there. |
|
Of course with the statement up front, that this place is far, far worse...
However, I've listened to and read several transcripts, briefings, letters, etc from her campaign - and the tone is very negative and accusatory.

6. She can be a scold. So can I. But in my case, it's strictly voluntary |
|
And I've accepted HRC, so it doesn't bother me. In fact, my mother could be damn strict ... but always kind.
So it's natural we would disagree on the tone. Fair enough. Enjoy the remainder of silly season!

I would say the whoremedia reports on each campaign and over |
|
Edited on Sat Mar-15-08 11:08 PM by BenDavid
these last several months it is a known fact the whoremedia has been about 85% pro obama and just the reverse with HRC. You do not get to hear what she is talking about in those campaign stops. It is what the whoremedia wants you to hear. If nbc, cbs, abc, cnn, msnbc every night gave glowing reports about obama and negative stories about hrc then who comes out better? uh huh Obama.....
Just what Bill Clinton told Jessica Yelling from CNN in south carolina. "You are not inside listening to what is being said, nor what these people are asking. You are out here getting talking points from the obama camp and asking me questions. While you should have been inside listening and reporting on what effects those peoples lives."
Bill was telling the truth about the whoremedia especially cnn being pro obama it is laughable, and now we which have gone through a few of these easily reconized just whom was playing the race card and it sure as hell was not the clintons. It is laid at the feet of one barack obama...and maybe his "hole in his soul" needs repairing.....Not from the most high pastor wright but some other christian pastor.

|
You use offensive language. I'm not sure if you think that Obama is some pro-palestinian radical who's going to support the destruction of Israel or what. Ummm...he certainly isn't. Your vile hatred seeps through your wriitings and has here on DU for months.

11. That's the thing... not everyone wants a motivational speaker. |
|
I have no particular interest in "an uplifting campaign that has appealed to humanity's better nature."
That's for children.
I want a competent technocrat who can stand up to a lot of hatred and bullying. That's the modern job description of the President.
My only question with Hillary is her competence, not her deficits in the messianic department. If I wanted a state religion I would have become a Republican.
(Hasn't Bush taught anyone ANYTHING?)
And I certainly don't want a nice, high-minded presidential candidate. That type ends up writing books about how much better things would be if only everyone had voted for him.

Hillary has run a the very opposite of an uplifting campaign. A campaign that focused humanity's worst nature. She's run a campaign that focused on all but the issues. She has run on of the dirtiest campaign's I've ever witnessed. She's run a campaign that all american's and this democrat is very ashamed of.

16. I'd Say Her Campaign Has Been The Wee Tiniest Bit Negative... |
|
But as much as I've come to dislike her, I'm guessing it's due in large part to to some of the scum she's chosen to surround herself with.

I think she's run the dirtiest and most diasgusting democratic presidential primary race ever and the worst race on the presidential race ever (worse than Rove 2000 and 2008) and perhaps as bad as Nixon 1972.

20. She has every right to run. Would that she had hired better men and women |
|
to be her handlers and strategists, and would that she had appealed to a higher insinct in the electorate.
Had Edwards survived as a stronger contender for the nomination this cycle, he would have a lead over her as well, likely as much as Obama's.
If you remove her name recognition owing from her husband's political celebrity, all she has are the race-baiting media stunts by Shaheen, Ferraro, and her husband as political strategies go. "My husband is famous; vote for me. My chief Dem opponent is a drug-addled Afro American; vote for me. My chief Dem opponent gives fancy speeches but is otherwise bankrupt of citizenship or qualifications; vote for me."
Yuck.
