http://trailblazersblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2008/03/clinton-delay-the-delegate-cou.htmlThe Hillary Clinton camp has tried every avenue to delay reporting on the delegates from the Texas primary. They tried to intimidate the Texas Democratic Party prior to the primary. That failed. On election night, they threw up a duststorm of objections about irregulatories. Now, the Clinton camp us urging the state party to delay the March 29 county and senate conventions, where details of how 67 delegates picked in the county caucuses will be announced.
Why are they doing this? Because they are losing.
CNN has confirmed that Barack Obama won the Texas caucuses with 38 convention delegates, compared to 29 for Clinton. The Texas primary is a complicated, two-step process. Clinton won more delegates than Obama in the popular-vote portion, 65 to 61. With his likely caucus-delegate haul, looks like Obama won the overall statewide delegate lead, 99 to 94 -- or once superdelegate endorsements are factored in, 109 to 106.
Hillary Clinton declared victory in Texas and moved on. As for these pesky details, like delegates, that's the last thing the Clinton campaign wants to talk about.

Hillary, don't go away mad, just go away

Clinton doesnt want to face the questions regarding bills comment if she doesnt win ohio and texas shes done. Of course she wants it delayed... at least till after PA in the hope she can use that as justification to again draw this out and damage obama as much as she can. So when she loses mcCain wins and she can go at it again in 2012. She makes me sick why doesnt someone tap her on the shoulder and say its over!

My goodness, now the RULES are important to the Clinton campaign, the campaign that agreed to follow the DNC rules regarding Florida and Michigan -- that is until it was to their advantage to break them . . . and "steal" all the delegates in Michigan where Obama (following the rules) didn't even have his name on the ballot. And in Florida, while both Obama and Clinton agreed to follow the rules and not campaign, Hillary managed to be in Florida the night before the election to attend two highly publicized events.
Most of the "rules" broken in the above list sound pretty petty -- and would be equally broken for both candidates. Sounds to me like Hillary is trying to steal Texas delegates the way she tried to steal them in Michigan and Florida.

It is a bad thing because the premise of the Clinton campain's argument is that Hillary wins the big states including Texas and therefore should be considered the stronger Democratic Candidate in spite of the leads Obama has amassed in states won, popular vote, and most importantly DELEGATES. The fact that the media persists in repeating Hillary's claims to a Texas victory only reinforces a reality that is not based on FACTS. The fact is by virtue of his delegate advantage, Obama won Texas and should be given credit.
