Poll question: Bush or no Bush - Has Kerry made his case?
I hate Bush. You hate Bush. Everyone here hates Bush. For us, a petrie dish of fuzzy green stuff is an improvement over this flatlined imbecile and his lying, thieving svengali handlers.

We're on one side. The Freeper Kool-Aid slurping bots are on the other side.

Kerry has to maker a case for himself, on his own terms, for everyone in between. Cheney bashes Kerry, Kerry bashes Bush. Terry Mac bashes Hughes. Swell.

But has Kerry made a case that he should be president, irregardless of how terrible we think the current titleholder is?

Honest answers, please. Put yourself in the non-fringey middle, for a second.

For the record, I support Kerry, although he wasn't my first choice.

1. Another dumb poll

Its basic premise, that April is the right time to make the case that you should be President, is invalid.

5. Thanks for your helpful commentary
I think every day should be a good day to be making that case. Sorry we disagree.

3. Irregardless is an improper use of regardless.
It's just a pet peeve of mine, I'm always grateful when people correct my English faux pas.

To answer the question, NO, Kerry could do a lot more to define himself. He misses huge opportunities to slam dunk Bush into a black hole.

He needs to offer a clear vision of how he'd be different.

He may indeed be doing that, but the corporate media is against him.

10. It's early yet
Yes, I think/hope kerry is actually biding his time.. we know how in a matter of weeks how a new outcome to a situation (read iraq) could render months of campaigning fruitless.

However this isn't stopping any of us from helping out. Once I get the posts I've got a great idea for the numbers and energy of DU. I'm getting moveon.org emails, and I'mlike, "I know already" shouldn't the letters be sent to any and all papers?

12. Kerry in Wheeling WV (Steel Valley)
Edited on Tue Apr-27-04 07:23 AM by doc03
He never talked about the steel industry.

Instead he criticized Bush for not enforcing trade laws. He said
if the ITC rules that trade laws are broken he will enforce the 201 tariffs and he will stand up to the WTO.
1. Clinton promised the same thing and then refused to submit the
trade complaints of the steel industry to the ITC.
2. Bush put the steel tariffs in place for 18 months and that saved Weirton Steel and Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel from liquidation.
This gave the industry a chance to regroup and ISG has bought out Weirton Steel and they now have a future. Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel
was able to emerge from chapter 11 and is now installing a $115 mil.
state of the art Electric Arc Furnace thanks to the Byrd Bill loan
guarantee.
3. John Kerry was asked if elected if he would put the tariffs
back on, his answer "no the WTO ruled against them."
4. Instead of attacking Bush, if he would have said I think Clinton was wrong on this issue and I would have supported the tariffs, I think we would have accepted that.
I want to support Kerry I even sent him a $50 donation.
Why can't these people ever admit a mistake. "fool me once your fault fool me twice my fault."
