Nancy Pelosi gives Clinton supporters NOTHING on today's ABC's THIS WEEK W/ GEORGE
1. She is highest ranking Democrat, supports Obama, and will chair the convention and decide on disputes.

2. She says superdelegates must follow will of the people or destroy the party.

3. She says will of the people is not popular vote - it is delegates because in the National election we have the Electoral College and those are the rules (George does not comment on what an idiotic statement this is).

4. She expects Hillary (unnamed - but Hillary based on the above) to quit the race soon - as soon as she realizes that elected delegates only count.

5. She rejects any Obama-Clinton Ticket - the Clinton voters will come crawling back to Obama because where else can they go - there is no need for a unity ticket because Obama will bring us together.

Body language was a Frozen face large smile and nervous ticks as she delivered her "Fuck you" to Clinton supporters.

She fits well with Obama's NAFTA there was no meeting to say just kidding about NAFTA changes which changed to there was a meeting and everyone else is lying, Obama's social programs have no cost if you do not intend to pass them as pointed out to Kudlow at CNBC, and Obama's I guarantee out of Iraq in 16 months but note that this is just campaign talk and I will review and come up with real plan once I am elected.

No impeachment of Bush, no real movement toward getting us the H. out of Iraq? But then maybe she has friends or family feeding at the same defense contract trough as some other high-profile Dems (Feinstein) right along side the Repugs.

81. If HRC wins the popular vote then she's talking nonsense
Actually, even if not, but then I'd agree with her. The rules say the SDs can make up their own minds, and if HRC is ahead in the popular vote and the Sds see BO as having the lesser chance, they're entitled to choose HRC. That's not called moving the goalposts, those are the rules.

Before bringing up MI and FL, I think there should be a revote, and I know she's behind without those 2 states.

As for Pelosi herself, her inept leadership for the past few years tell me all I need to know about her judgment, and I find it amusing that suddenly she makes sense to you Bo supporters. Which goes to prove you're just fans.

40. On #3, it isn't like Hillary has a chance of getting the Popular Vote now anyhow
Michigan is going to be redone at the very least, which dooms Hillary's chance, since a fair Michigan vote will just about split the State 50-50.

48. It's worse than that actually, since as soon as the MI re-vote plans are in place
her current delegate/vote count from MI goes POOF until June. The gap will be glaring in the meantime. If FL does a re-vote, the same thing happens plus Obama is sure to do better since there will only be two names on the ballot in a FL re-vote.

41. Good for Nancy
It's so funny how some of you Hillary supporters are trying to chide folks for giving Nancy a clap for doing something good for the party for a change. I'm sure many of you were willing to overlook, forgive or put aside the fact that Hillary voted for this unjust war, because many of you support her despite of that. I'm not happy with Nancy saying impeachment is off the table but I don't deal in black and white absolute thinking either, that is a repug trait. If Nancy does something for the good of the party then I will say good for her, it doesn't mean I'm not pissed about her impeachment statement. Just like some of you overlook the many faults of Clinton ,for instance, her Iraq war vote which she just now, after being strong armed, said she regretted.

Good for Nancy!

78. she was right about impeachment
it would have been played as gotcha for clintons impeachment
it would have tied our govt in more partisan infighting
it would kill any cooperation from the reps (not much to start with but dead)
it would gaurantee a backlash during the election cycle
it would be moot as it wouldnt play out until after nov 2008

nancy since taking office has been diligent in keeping the party on track to this nov
shes not my hero
i disagree with a lot she has said and done
but her path if you look is very clear
shes doing the parties work
she wants us to gain seats in both houses this fall
and take the white house in nov

compare that to "me me win at all cost" and see which you are more comfortable with
so for this
thank you nancy you are on target again

Presumably she has been hearing it privately since super tuesday and the pleas for her to withdraw as she cannot win have been falling on deaf ears. So now the pressure from the party leadership for her to face reality has gone public.

56. I'm not sure why Clinton supporters are so convinced they will win popular vote
Even if you include Florida and Michigan (where Obama got no votes at all), Hillary is trailing in the popular vote right now.

There will be a "do-over" in Michigan at least which means that Obama will gain at least two hundred to three hundred THOUSAND votes there alone (after all any vote total is better than zero). If you don't count either MI or FL, Obama leads by 700,000 votes RIGHT NOW. If you count only Florida he leads by 400,000 RIGHT NOW.

Asides from Pennsylvania, Obama is expected to win the vast majority of upcoming states including the three biggest ones: North Carolina, Oregon and Indiana. The only other state Hillary is doing well in, and can be expected to win, is tiny West Virginia which shouldn't net too many votes for her.

So I simply don't see where she will make up the huge deficit she finds herself in.

My prediction is that Obama will win pledged delegates and states won (ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY) and he will also win the popular vote (NEAR CERTAINTY).

So i'm not sure what you Clinton supporters are being all uppity about. Can I take this to mean that if Obama should beat Hillary in the pop. vote after the primaries are over in early June, you will be calling for her to step down? Or will the goal posts change yet again?

65. Innocent question...
I seem to recall reading a statement by her some weeks back, it may even have been before the California primary, saying essentially that super delegates should vote according to the will of their constituents. Since Hillary won CA, does she still plan on voting for Hillary? From this it would seem fairly obvious she would not do that, but has she officially committed to Obama yet?

91. Reality bites, eh?
I can see how you'd feel disappointed with Pelosi in recent years. On the other hand, when you consider the size of our congressional and sentorial majorities (slim and none), the reality is that neither impeachment nor forced withdrawal have been viable options. On the whole I think we've done pretty well over the last 15 months in bringing the Bush/GOP machine to a screeching halt. People who expected to see articles of impeachment in January 2007 were/are living in a self-righteous fantasy land.

101. 'Pelosi Endorses' -- "Pelosi has stayed neutral throughout this race, and remains so."
Pelosi Endorses

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/03/pelosi-endorses.html

March 12, 2008 9:44 AM

OK, not really. But in an interview with New England Cable News, Speaker of the House Nancy
Pelosi, D-Calif., seems to take sides as to why a "fusion" or "dream ticket" ain't in the cards.

"I think that ticket either way is impossible," Pelosi said.

And why?

“I think that the Clinton administration has fairly ruled that out by proclaiming that
Senator McCain would be a better Commander in Chief than Obama.”

"I wanted to be sure I didn't leave any ambiguity," she added.

Pelosi has stayed neutral throughout this race, and remains so.

But many on Capitol Hill suspect that it would make sense for her heart to be with Obama, given
that he's generally more liberal than Clinton, and Pelosi no doubt was not a fan of the Clinton
White House's "triangulations" against the Democratic Congress in the 1990s.

Then there's the notion put forward by Obama supporters that Obama would be more competitive in
Red States...and unless Speaker Pelosi doesn't want to end up House Minority Leader Pelosi, she'd
better figure out a way to get some strength on the top of the ticket so as to help secure the jobs
of all those new Democratic Representatives from Indiana, North Carolina, Kansas and the like.
