Anybody Catch Obamas Fake Accent Speech?
What A Phony. I'll give him this, the man has no shame and knows how to pander. Or perhaps, he was just looking for his voice.

1. His supporters here get all weak in the knees when he hits them with his tent revival faith healer
routine. They fall in the floor and twitch.

I grew up listening to fundamentalist preachers, some of whom hollered like Wright, so none of this is really a novelty for me.

12. I think that one of the main differences between
Obama and Hillary is that they are different personality types on the Myers Briggs test.

Their supporters are very different personality types as well.

I just hope that all Dems can set aside their personality differences and concentrate on electing a Dem, any Dem, in the fall.

Think about those poor soldiers that get sent back to Iraq again and again and again.

Think about how the Repugs will keep on raping the middle class in order to make the corporations even more powerful.

Think about the Supreme Court nominees that will bend to the will of the corporations if McCain replaces the old Dems now on the Court.

50. Or INTJ
I can't remember how the person who guessed at this in the Washington Post article characterized her. I do remember that the Post article pegged Obama as an idealist, like Martin Luther King and Ghandi.

28. I agree. I often think about an Ed Psych class I took when I post here
Different types with very different world views and methods of functioning.

I think we'll heal faster than many outsiders expect. Some supporters from both sides have demonized the other candidate to a large extent. That always seems to fade once the battle is over...

SCOTUS. SCOTUS. SCOTUS.

15. Have you ever spoken to anyone on the southside of Chicago?
Do you know where the majority of the African Americans come from there? It's hard not to pick up on the accent. It's southern, through-and-through.

45. Hmm "Faux" the only thing Faux is your observation
From the university of arizona's website:
http://www.ic.arizona.edu/~lsp/AAEnglish.html

This linguistic variety is commonly referred to as Black English (BE), Black English Vernacular (BE), African-American Vernacular English (AAVE), and Inner City English (ICE).

There have been three primary theories regarding the source of African-American English. These three theories can be named the following:

* Decreolized Creole
* Variety of Southern States English
* The "Unified" Theory

Proponents of the decreolized creole theory maintain that African-American English arose from a pidgin that was created among slaves from various linguistic backgrounds, primarily from West Africa. This pidgin included features of both the West African languages and English. Over time, this pidgin developed into a creole, and then more recently, became decreolized, and began to resemble English more closely.

Others state that African-American English is a variety of Southern States English, noting that the two varieties have many features in common, such as the Southern Vowel Shift, vowel lowering, and double modals.

Proponents of the unified theory state that African-American English arose from a number of sources, including West African languages and Southern States English, through a variety of evolutionary tracks.

16. have you listened to the speech...?
his style of talking- the metre, the inflections, are all completely different than any other time i've heard him speak.

HOWEVER- i have to admit, that in the times that i've visited minnesota and northern wisconsin, i tend to speak with more of the same type of "accent" that's used up there, although i don't do it here at home in northern illinois...it's almost like it's contagious, in the same kind of manner that a yawn can be.

4. People have said the same thing about Gore and the Clintons
I was born and raised in Alabama, but then lived in the Boston area, Maryland, and now California.

People tell me that my accent changes when I speak to my Alabama family and then again when I speak to my Boston friends. It's not a conscious thing on my part.

By the way, I'm not for Hillary and I'm not for Obama. I'm for the Dem nominee in the general election.

Edited on Sun Mar-16-08 10:33 AM by lizzy
back then.
"He introduced his own pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright of Chicago's Trinity United as "Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian." He credited Wright with introducing him to Christ, and peppered his speech with Scriptural references, at one point invoking the opening lines of the Lord's Prayer."
Seriously, do Obama supporters really believe Obama didn't know his pastor views?
And do you have a problem with Obama now saying he disagrees with what his pastor was saying?

what's good for the goose.

I never said anything about not voting for her, if she is the nominee.

She is the one who brought out the kitchen sink to throw at Obama.

Have you contacted Hillary's campaign and told her to knock it off with all her negativity?.?.?

Maybe you should express your concerns to her campaign.
