George Bush is only president because he is white.
John McCain is only where he is in this race because he is white.

Hillary Clinton is only where she is today because she is white and a woman.

John Edwards was only where he was 4 years ago because he is white.

Ronald Reagan was only president because he was white.

Why has no one ever said these things? If you find truth in what Ferraro said, then you must also find truth in the above statements.

1. It also backs up my theory that if Obama were a white man, he'd have the
nomination sealed by now.

3. I truly believe that if John Edwards
had the number of votes, delegates, states won, movement, and momentum that Obama has right now, John Edwards would be the nominee. There is just no way I can really get my head around it. And he would be getting about 90% of the black vote, too.

4. What you post was considered "the norm".
In this "normalized" society, it is what is, always had been, and ever shall be. It is expected and taken for granted and the end result was a "known". But when something upsets that "norm", it stands out and is ultimately pointed out and focused on because it is outside of "the norm". I.e., it is an outlier, ripe for endless speculation due to the fear of the "unknown".

So rather than take a chance on that "unknown", there is usually a push-back to keep the status-quo, which is felt to be the "safest course" because the result is usually "known".

7. But after 8 years of Bush even the unknown got to be an
improvement. Even if a secret Al Qaeda agent had some how been president for the last 7 years they couldn't have screwed up america as bad as the bush has.

5. Problem with the logic is that Ferraro's comment is wrong.
She said that Obama was doing well because he is an African American. It's funny because she's implying that liberals have an afirmative action program. Yet we didn't nominate Jesse Jackson. Democrats are voting for Obama because they believe in his message of hope and unity.

What she has done is discount his value as a person and a senator. This should never happen in the Democratic party--otherwise, we'd be Republicans.
