Mr. Edwards, a post for you! |
|
I was a staunch Edwards supporter in 2004 and until you bowed out this round. I sure hope you, Mr. Edwards, are not planning on partnering with Hillary Clinton as some posters on here seem to think you may be planning. I'm perfectly okay with you not partnering with anyone till after the convention; but please do not throw your support at this time behind Hillary; the establishment candidate that is using Rovian, rightwing tactics in her campaign, refuses transparency, and believes in winning at all costs including betraying her party by endorsing McCain.
If you do, I will have no choice but to determine that you are a hypocrite of the worse kind, and I really don't want to lose my warm fuzzy feelings I always have when you come to mind. I wish you had stayed in the race longer because I think you would've benefited from the discourse going on between Hillary and Obama, but you didn't and I'm sad about that.
Please don't make me ashamed for having supported you, touted you, and respected you above the others.

John Edwards can support whomever he wants to, and if he ends up supporting Hillary, I'm sure it will be for reasons that make sense to him. I trust his judgment.
Personally, I hope that he doesn't endorse anyone, but if he supports Hillary OR Obama, I won't hold it against him. He probably knows things that we don't.

13. I won't disagree with you there. |

Of course, we are all free to feel however we want. I apologize for the "give it a rest" comment -- it's just that this has been going around for months now, and it seems kind of stale.

4. The "Edwards is endorsing Hillary" is more Clintonista grasping at straws |
|
The math is against them, and they nothing left to hope for that is based on reality.

5. I don't want him to do that either, but PLEASE understand: |
|
He will, as he SHOULD, look for the best deal on the issues as he ran on them. That IS, afterall, what brought his supporters to him. This is NOT hypocrisy, unless it turns into a double- (or triple-) cross.

7. Based on her campaign tactics, I have no doubt that is exacty what will happen. |
|
He will be double crossed and look the foolish hypocrite. I think he is better than that, I hope I am right. I too would be fine for him to simply not endorse anyone. He shouldn't have dropped out when he did. He would be on top by now I think if he had stayed in.

10. We were not best buds, but I've known him since we were undergrads together at UNC. |

He is as principled and decent man as I know. I will trust his instincts and motives ahead of any spew I may encounter from an anonymous nobody on an internet message board.

in it for contrast.
I will probably always be an Edwards-ian Deanocrat.

14. Dear John Edwards , i gave you thousands both this year and 2004 |
|
Edited on Sun Mar-16-08 03:15 PM by flyarm
i was a delegate for you and Kerry in 2004..i worked all your rallies co-ordinating all the volunteers and stayed up all nights before all the Rallies clearing all the volunteers with the secret service..i housed your field rep for 7 months..and helped run the biggest campaign office on the West coast of Florida..
I left my family at Christmas time this year and flew to Iowa to volunteer for your campaign..and stayed almost 21/2 weeks through New years Eve and through the entire caucus in Iowa..i knocked on doors for you in minus 15 degree weather..all on my own dime..
I was a co-captain for a large caucus for you..i wrote you a serious letter of what we saw at that caucus,..and the cheating we saw.
I worked hard in Florida to get out votes for you.
I worked the election in Florida to make sure it was fair and that no cheating took place.
I went to South Carolina and worked for you as a volunteer as well..and brought help with me , another Lady who was a delegate for you in 2004..
we knocked on doors..for over a week..
I fed your staff and volunteers in your main volunter office in Sc..
I bought over $1000.00 worth of buttons and placards to give to your supporters.
I worked Phones ..till late each night after knocking on doors all day..
I worked directly with Bonior and your campaign leaders
I helped lead a rally in Columbia SC in front of the Capitol
Please Please John Edwards do not support or endorse Obama..many of your volunteers have written directly to you to tell you what we saw directly on the ground, many of whom were lawyers who documented what they saw...and we were all appalled!
I trust your judgment John, over all the bullshit spewed on these message boards!

I too was an Edwards supporter and have seen you post several times referring to things you saw on the ground that appalled you and others. Would it be possible for you to give us some specifics about that? Those of us who are still somewhat undecided about whom to support now would find your information helpful.
