15. Agreed. The voters are to blame for elections by definition, yet always get let off the hook.

10. In the end...
Edited on Sun Mar-16-08 06:10 PM by Mother Of Four
It's who the voters choose that ends up becoming president-

So it will be our fault, the fault of the voters being blind- If we don't end up with a Dem in the whitehouse.

(Edited to add- We as voters know that we have to come out in droves to offset any dirty dealing. This is a "fool me once" situation)

If thats the case, I'm glad I didn't vote in the poll. I may not support her, but thats just silly. We can't afford to have another Repub in the whitehouse- Period.

(Edited for clarity)

14. Bullshit. I included every combo I could think of. The purpose of this poll
is to gauge the opinions of those in the forum. I have seen more than enough "Hillary must leave for the good of the party" posts and was curious how deep this sentiment went.

So you are not just wrong, you are 180 degrees off base.

I guess there are "true believers" in both camps who see attacks on their candidates no matter what.

12. Another DU clown party here... already planning to blame Hillary
Edited on Sun Mar-16-08 06:18 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
This is what is called, in sports, finding an excuse to lose. Most competitors are losers by nature, and will gladly lose provided they can find away to blame the loss on something other than themselves. They set protecting their ego above victory.

You see this a lot in tennis. A player gets one bad call and then loses every remaining game. It's not that he's rattled by the bad call so much as that he has his excuse. He is already planning his post-match complaints sbout the officiating.

The 1986 World Series was a textbook example of this psycholgical phenomenon. Saint Louis lost game 6 after a very bad call at first base in the ninth. But they were still 50-50 to win the series.

Yet in game seven they all but conceded the game, getting in fights with the umpires, hitting Kansas City players with pitches out of spite, dogging it in the field.

It was so set in their mind that the series had already been "stolen" from them in game six that they were more interested in fixing blame than in trying to overcome some adversity.

It was almost as if winning the series would have robbed them of their martyrdom.

If they weren't working actively for the corporations, the GOP wouldn't stand a chance.

And we'd have better Dems in the race, too.

I would blame Obama and his supporters if Hillary gets it, because they're going to run home. If Obama gets it and lose I'll blame his supporters for giving us another glass jaw Democrat.

26. If the votes are counted correctly, any good Dem will win in 08.
The problem is that the tilt in the voting machine count will be enough to throw the election to the Repubs if there's not a huge turnout and a huge majority in favor of the Dem.

That's the long and short of it.

Trying to blame the American people or John Kerry or credit the fundamentalist religious vote if the Dems lose is stupid and wrong-headed IMO. The American people didn't vote for GWB EITHER TIME, and they won't vote for McCain this time either.
