Did you know that 3 counties in Tx. had no primary because they
couldn't afford to have one? I just heard that on the Peter B. Collins Show. He said it was discovered when they did the final vote count and there were 3 counties that returned NO VOTE. After further investigation, they found out that they didn't have any primary election because they couldn't afford one.

6. Yes it was both parties, but from what Peter B. said, it was primarily
Pub counties. I did a google search for Texas no votes, and I found one page that has a description of what's going on there.

It seems there are sparsley populated counties in TX that just don't have anyone to run an election. Weird, huh?

Were those counties also predominantly poor Mexican-American?

5. I also put blame on the DLC and the 17 state strategy...
this is what happens when you don't work at growing the party in red states.

4. That doesn't surprise me
the state democratic party is almost nonexistent in TX.

7. Some counties in West Texas are quite sparsely populated.
They might have decided not to have primaries because there are too few people, not because they're poor.

9. The article talks about 3 counties with no dem primary, and 18 with no repub primary
Texas has been a state that doesn't count for more than a decade. There are limited funds and resources. Blame who you might.
