Anyone else sick of "Ah'm George W. Bush and ah approve this message?"
...Dubya's little intro to his paid 30-second Kerry bashing TV commercials. The night before last Fox ran one, then two other commercials, then a second one...all in the same break.

Yeah, I know, "Why do I watch Fox."

Maybe some of the GOP scumbag freeper lurkers who frequent DU could whisper in their boss's ear:

"Mr. President, you sound like an idiot. Let's just run the commercial without your intro."

Evidently, Karen Hughes thought that it made him sound "Presidential." Since she has returned you can really detect her "distinctive touch." You know, like when you're driving down the road and you can tell someone's hit a skunk. Rove's attitude would be "who gives a flying f**k WHO approves it?"

:-)

2. I still want to know where that phony twang came from...
and why he seems to be the only one in his family who talks that way. Why doesn't Jeb have a twang? I'm no expert on accents, but there are some words w. says that don't seem "Texan" to me. Wish I could think of them, but they struck me as east school preppie, which is, after all, what he is. No offense to preppies.

13. It's not really Texas, he's trying to come on like a pilot
with the "Right Stuff" accent. it's insulting.

3. Notice that he delivers the "I approve..." statement, then a narrator...
...takes over?

I'm sure they wanted to forego the stutter-fest, that would result from Bush trying to recite a flawless reading of the script. They'd fry-up their "war chest" by June!

6. That's the annoying part...
...and as DemMother pointed out, the phony twang. It's the one-two punch: a phony cowboy who is also a frigging idiot.

I can understand the legality of it, but it comes across like a commercial for Jimmy Dean sausage.

I'm waiting for Kerry to "Go Hulk." I need him to turn green, I need to see the buttons pop off his shirt and the sleeves rip and watch him go apesh*t as he hands this scumbag a one-way ticket on the Crawford Express. I'm sure he has a plan. He must have a plan.

He's got a plan, right? He's not just going to let this guy beat him, is he?

Kerry is not gonna unleash until near or after convention, you can't really expect him to go hardcore this early without pulling a dean.

14. I agree completely, that's why I'm looking for a "plan"...
...but maybe it's too early to reveal it, and I need to learn patience (and trust).

It's just that Bush has become the poster child for many, many, many bad things.

I mean, how do you gaze upon a photo like the one below without lapsing into violent, uncontrollable projectile vomiting? It's like "Mission Accomplished Phase II"...you can hear Hughes saying "Well, they got us in the "Mission Accomplished"...because it WASN'T...but how are they gonna prove you aren't protecting them?"

To which Bush replies "Ah approve this message." LOOK at the steely determination. LOOK at the sense of commitment in his furrowed brow and ruggedly chiseled features. Is it NOVEMBER yet?????

7. Plus, they want to insulate Bush from making the lying statements
of the narrator. There should be truth in advertising....especially political ads.
