If Obama is Going to Lose behind this Bullshit, This is the Way |
|
Edited on Tue Mar-18-08 10:14 AM by alcibiades_mystery
The cynics will now come out of the woodwork saying "He's a black candidate now. he's done!"
I don't care. This is an honest and honorable speech, perhaps the most honorable political speech we've seen in years.
He might lose behind it, but I wouldn't want to be the one who won behind the opposite. This is a remarkable and historic moment.

We're so used to the opposite, the triangulating, the craven poll-driven nonsense.

If you feel this strongly, put your money where your mouth is.
And get on the horn. We've got work to do.

they want him to deny who he is, his color and religion...They want to keep pretending as they have done for years thats why this country is so f--ked up now. Go Barack!

I don't care how he loses as long as he does. You can only go so far on empty promises of hope and change.

|
I didn't get to see the speech live, but I trust it was as moving and relevant as everyone here is describing it.
What will move this story forward now is how the press reacts. What are they saying? Did Obama do what he needed to today?

But their critiques will be very pale next to this display.

No matter what happens, I'm glad Obama played it straight. That's what attracts a lot of people to his campaign, the feeling that he reacts to things as an honest, intelligent human being, and not a media spin machine.

If he goes down behind this, the American people do not deserve him period, the good people of America will get exactly what they deserve.
He is truly a decent and upstanding man.

Because this speech is something special. Regardless of who we support, we all should realize how (in your words) honorable this speech truly is. This is a defining moment.
