I just remembered - Bush got no 9/11 anniversary bump last year
Edited on Thu Apr-29-04 08:09 PM by fujiyama
Hopefully, it will be the same this year -- this will mean that his 9/11 convention will be seen for what it is (and not just in NYC which already sees it) -- the exploitation of the deaths of 3000 people.

While I myself have absolutely no problem with peaceful protests, I'm guessing that any violent protest would hurt the democrats. I'm also guessing the GOP will hire rent a thugs to provoke violence on the streets of NY.

Let's hope it doesn't get violent. It would hurt us more than it hurts Bush.

3. All we have to do is show up. With signs. And do nothing else.
We also need to remember that the strong police presence may be there to protect as much or more than harass.

A million Americans is an attractive target. For BushCo or for bin Ladin's ego desperate to top his last one.

So if a cop says "Move" or "Don't go there," pay attention and move or don't go there.

This is New York. We are a city on permanent orange alert. Take that into consideration and leave all righteously angry belligerence home.

5. It depends on the conduct of the protestors,
if it is nonviolent and orderly, I think it will hurt him.

If they appear to be "wackos" and get violent, I think it will help *

6. I think protests will help Bush. The average American hates protestors,
I think protests will help Bush.

The average American hates protestors, and would rather identify with people drinking martinis inside an air-conditioned convention hall than with people out protesting in the sun and getting clubbed by the police.
