Believe it or not Obama supporters I do like Sen.Barack Obama and I feel he should win the White House fairly easy if he gets the nomination but I do have some worries they are: 1. the right wing media going slime mode 24/7 and how Obama reacts cuz he can't take the high road with these bastards. Ask Al Gore and John Kerry how that went.
2. The corporate media will they play the unfair ref again? Remember the Swiftboat vets had ads in a hand full of markets before they free air time they got from the corporate media.
3. Karl Rove: If anything that 300 pounds of Godzilla shit knows it's how to fire up the knuckle drag base of the Republican party and he knows how to turn Dems greatest strengths into their greatest weakness. for example Al Gore is a smart elitest bore, John Kerry was a chicken and his purple heart was a result of a paper cut.
4. Racism: When Harold Ford look like he was going to take Dr. cat killer seat the RNC ran a ad saying pretty much: If Ford gets elected he's going to take away your white women and there was no blacklash against the Republican.
5.Final: he's like other Dems in the past, didn't stand up for themselves when they should, give up too fast i.e. John Kerry.

1. I think your concerns are misplaced |
|
His response is always immediate, on topic, and reasonable. He doesn't get shrill, whine, or ignore problems. We can't control the RW media hacks but we can be comfortable with how Obama responds to attack.

7. Yeah, he responds by giving one of his speeches on TV |
|
with a row of American flags behind him and the media gobble it up. That's kind of unfair fighting to me...but it's politics and he's going with his strengths. Speeches!

Leadership.
As Tom Landry once said, "Leadership is getting someone to do what they don't want to do, to achieve what they want to achieve"
This is different then Hillary's penchant to just repeat by rote her policy positions. At some point you need to inspire people to take great chances to enact those positions. Perhaps that is why she failed the first time with a Democratic Congress on healthcare.

8. This is a different monster |
|
I think the key for Obama is not slipping up and give the right wing something to talk about. This whole pastor thing will be forgotten the time the general election rolls around. I rather know what the right plans are because Obama is a way is different Dem they're used to trash.

It seems a dude can't win either way even when I say I think he could win. The right wing smear machine is a far different monster than what you claim Hillary is doing.

Hello are you new to the Republican party? The stuff the GOP have used in the past against Dems and you're comparing what Hillary is doing. Boy I hate to see what you guys will do after McCain or whatever right wing 527 group will say.

5. Today, he laid it out on the line |
|
He put things on the table that only had power when they weren't being talked about. He changed the rules today and he will change them on the Repugs. I was concerned about his ability to counteract the 24/7 Rovemobile of shit, but no more. Did you watch the speech. This man, in a quiet, incredibly strong way, kicks ass and takes names. I didn't know he could do that, nor did I think any politician in this day and age, would. I am bowled over, astounded, gobsmacked, etc. Senator Obama will be the next President of the United States, barring any awful things (things I don't even want to put on a written page).
I was fence sitting until I watched the speech today. I am now firmly behind Senator Obama.

6. So...you're essentially afraid that his basic decency and sense of |
|
honor means he's a weakling? I don't think he is weak at all. He is a fighter who takes the high road when he can, takes the bull by the horns when he has to, and consistently works to set himself up to win when nobody is looking.

10. Damn dude take a chill pill |
|
Al Gore is a good man, John Kerry is a good man yet the right managed to morph them into something nasty. Hell they managed to say Max Cleland was on the same page as Saddam Hussien and Osama Bin Liden. With Sen.Obama I would hate to see what they have in store for him. Barack Obama is like Dwight Howard of politics future is bright and dude can go far with him being the only one to stop him.

9. I don't think he's really turned up the heat yet... |
|
He's trying to play nice in the Democratic nominee selection process. I know, I know, a lot of Clinton folks will disagree, but I believe he's passed up a lot of easy shots that would have scored points. Once he's in the GE I think that's going to change and John McCain is going to be asking for the license plate number on the truck.

13. How has he not stood up for himself? (also, 1,2,4, and 4 aren't so hot either) |
|
He seems to do very well here from what I've seen. His campaign reacts very quickly (a vast difference from Kerry's).
4. Racism? Hillary has sexism against her. Let's call that a wash.
3. Rove? He can work his jerky evil against any candidate. Hillary has a history full of gold for Rove.
2. Corporate media unfair? Most Hillary supporters think they are anti-Hillary, so if their bias is a real concern Hillary would be more problematic, would she not?
1. Right wing slime can be thrown at anyone. This is much like 3 and 5 -- Obama responds to right-wing slime quickly and decisively.

|
Damn are Obama supporters new to this country honestly? Or you guys haven't been paying attention for the last I don't know 16 years of politics? if Obama is the dude then Hillary is out of the picture. As for Hillary Clinton, Bill said something back in 2004 if they hit you, you hit them back even harder.

17. Hillary has essentially lost, just because she isn't leaving the campaign doesn't mean she can win |
|
She's tenacious, but she can't unseat Obama. He's going to win.
I'll give kudos to her for being tough politically, but that doesn't mean she has a chance of winning. She can barely hold on to her coalition in a lot of these races, and Obama alway solidly holds on to his. When Obama is either holding onto his coalition and sometimes eating into Hillary's that means he is doing quite well. Given that Hillary and the Clintons are supposed to be these great political fighters, doesn't it say something when they can't even touch Obama's core voters?
I think the issue you bring up here is a red herring. Two extremely attractive candidates can nearly split the party and that doesn't mean one of them must be bad at campaigning. If anything this shows Obama is better at campaigning than the Clintons, since he is beating Hillary. I don't comprehend how you can say his winning somehow means his campaign is worse than Hillary's; how does that make any sense?
