I like the new Kerry TV ads |
|
It's nice to hear John speaking for himself, instead of listening to right wingers slander him. The commercials are great. John sits and speaks calmly looking directly into the camera. He states that his goal is to defend America. His priorities are jobs and healthcare. He looks very positive, very confident, and very Presidential. Our country needs him.

A lot of people hate them but I think they are very good.
He comes off as very Presidential. Defining himself.

We've already been bombarded with Bush ads. I think I've muted about $20 million worth of Bush ads. I feel sorry for the people whose ads follow Bush's. I don't usually un-mute the TV until well into the next commercial. They're wasting a lot of money by running ads that follow Bush's. I'm sure I'm not the only one that mutes the drone.
Kerry's ads are like a breath of fresh air compared to Bush's. Kerry speaks for himself, describes his priorities, and keeps a positive attitude throughout. Bush's ads are like a black cloud compared to Kerry's.

3. I give Kerry an A+ for his commercials. They've been very consistently the |
|
most effective commercials during the primaries.

7. Clark gave him a great soundbite this morning |

"This election is about judgement" and the * has not displayed good judgement. Also he said that the * has started coming around towards Kerry's position on the war and if anyone doubted that go back and watch him in the primaries, he actually said the * was copying Kerry.

10. At the Emily's List convention on Friday in D.C. Theresa Kerry |
|
spoke at 10:45. She had gotten back to town at 12 midnight from a speech-making tour. We are going to love her as a first lady. She is so amazingly down-to-earth and so grounded in what is important. She told of her childhood in Africa. It is obvious that she has learned from that the value of being a help to the world and to being a humanitarian to all peoples. She said she never used a prepared speech, but just spoke from rhe heart. She commented on one news session when she was constantly bombarded with questions about gay marriage. After she had answered over and over, she finally ended the onslaught by reminding the press that she is a mother of three sons and two step-daughters. She explained that if one of them came home with a partner he/she loved, she would want to be happy that the son/daughter had found someone to really care about. These is paraphrase, of course. She spoke the most eloquent vocabulary and it never seemed anything but natural; her words exhibited a real strength of committment to the earth and to its protection.

...but I'm glad they're out there. I haven't seen too many of Kerry's ad's since the end of the primary season. I've seen way too many of *'s on cable TV (mute button has gotten a lot of work.)
I'm hoping Kerry's ads are airing in the battleground states where they'll do some good.
GO KERRY '04!

16. You're right Longhorn, they're playing in the battleground states |
|
My Michigan is one of them, and your Texas is, well you know how much chance Kerry has in Texas. The only campaigning Kerry will do in Texas will be designed to get under Bush's skin. Good to know that Shrubbie is wasting money there though. There are only about 15 states that are actually contested this year.

Bush is playing ads on cable channels that play in all markets. Why isn't Kerry? I have had to stop watching the History channel because of all the Bush ads. Kerry should be putting ads on those stations, as they reach into all markets.

but I haven't seen that much Kerry presence on the air. I have seen some of the ads by independent pro-Dem groups, however.
(For those who don't know, I live in the Philadelphia suburbs.)

19. Bush having such tightly controlled public appearances in last 4 years... |
|
...has left the public with images of him which are very stiff.
The most relaxed he has been in pictures is on his ranch or in a golf cart. Guess what? No normal people are anywhere near him in those pictures.
These images will be VERY easy to exploit by offering up very different images of Kerry.

well made, and make the Bush attack ads look bad.
And there is a great deal to indicate that taking the high road is what is keeping Kerry high in the polls.
In fact, tow of the latest polls in WIsconsin have Kerry head of Bush, though the Badger polls disagrees with this and has Bush ahead by a large lead, contradicting two other polls
Kerry head again in Oregon, but slimly
