Daily Show - Rev Wright - Obama Speech
John does a funny skit, it does point out how Obama ducks the question of his judgement on his mentor and goes back to the only deck of cards he has Race

1. Actually, Jon notes that finally someone is speaking to the American people about race, as though
they were adults.

2. yes he does, however
Race was never an issue in this campaign. Obama damn sure did not want it to be.

He answered the question about his judgement of having Rev Wright as his mentor with all his hateful baggage and Obama plays the race card.

he is dealing cards in a chess game, doesn't cut it.

racial reconciliation wasn't the question, it isn't the answer either.

5. race wasn't the question - his association with Wright was the question on his judgement
As John pointed out when after playing the clip of Wright GD America, and then cuts to Obamas speech, and he says Oh, it isn't about religion it is about race

If someone asks you what time it is and they tell you how the watch is made, does it answer your question?

4. Again "Today on a Tuesday at 11:00 in the morning Obama spoke to Americans as if they were adults"
followed by huge applause, your perception in this post is a bit off.

8. Yeah, that was the punch line that explained the whole bit..
it was a speech for adults, no sugar coating.

Stewart clearly approved of the speech.
