I just watched Senator Obama's race speech for the first time. That's what a President looks like. |

That was perhaps the best speech I've seen any politician give in years.
I remember his DNC speech well. And I remember being moved by it, and thoroughly enjoying the words of a man I had never heard of. It was the first time I saw Barack Obama, and I grew a lot of respect for him through that one simple speech.
Today, I watched his speech on politics and race.
I saw glimpses of the next sort of John Kennedy. I saw the same hope, the same inspiration, and the same leadership.
I'm not saying Barack Obama deserves to be compared to JFK. And I'm not saying he's anywhere near President Kennedy.
But seeing this speech today, I think he can rally our party and bring together our nation in a generation that needs inspiration and needs to come together for change.
If Senator Obama is our nominee, I look forward to eight years of hope and inspiration. And not fear and division.
I supported Senator Edwards for President, and then Senator Clinton.
And I can tell you, I'm confident that Barack Obama is capable and ready for the position of Commander-In-Chief. He showed that yesterday by talking about an issue that divides us and something that isn't necessarily comfortable, but needed to be addressed.
He did it with maturity, and looked absolutely Presidential.
And I thank him for doing so...

2. Did you get a chance to see his speech today? |
|
Yet another home run, IMO. He didn't hold back anything, just honest - straight forward and filled with details on what action he is planning to take. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's speech on the economy.

4. He can make a complicated subject easier for the listener |

to understand.
But now that I think about it, he has had "experience" as a Professor of Constitutional law.
It shows,he scored, IMO, another Perfect 10. I especially loved the way that he took on McCain and said he was "confused" when he spoke the other day.
He is an "experienced" Communicator and that is what we need in the WH. .

3. Have had several 'too busy to think' days and haven't had time to listen yet |

I want to be able to sit calmly, uninterrupted, and just savor the whole thing. Thanks for keeping my appetite whetted. Tonight... Got a lovely bottle of wine just for the occasion.
