10. Well, it's a lot different if Obama's the nominee, and has the party |
|
unified behind him, than if he's fighting a war on two fronts, which is what he's doing now.

15. And what is this "unified" Democratic party going to say? |
|
That having many years of proven experience in national and international policy isn't really that important for the most powerful executive office in the world?

They will point to his military career plus senate experience on various foreign relations and domestic committees and subcommittees plus dignitary trips meeting foreign leaders - the kinds of things any senator acquires after years of holding office.
I know you don't want to think about these things but many other voters will be - including many non-committed Dem voters, Independents, etc. Sometimes reality trumps vague "hopes" in the minds of voters.

28. Hillary didn't bake many cookies . . |
|
. . while first lady. She was in two presidential campaigns against a rabid Republican party out to destroy her and her husband. She was involved formally and informally for eight years in policy decisions and the daily workings of the white house operations while under constant partisan attack at all levels. She attended dozens of dinners and diplomatic receptions where she met and had conversations with many of the world's leaders. This will give her the ability to hit the ground running much more so than someone who has had a couple of years experience as a senator and none in the white house. The perception of that will make her competitive with McCain who has no white house experience except as a guest occasionally. The reality will give her an administrative advantage.
Also, her age, just being alive and involved in difficult political goals and outcomes and working through problems at a high level for many years is just plain valuable experience. Older folks understand that because we can look back and realize how much less we understood about life and people and conflict and human nature - even in our forties. But I know, if you haven't been here - then all that just seems so irrelevant. We know what that's like because we were there - but younger folks have never been where we are looking back.

3. The Dems need to collectively decide... |
|
...to break for one candidate or the other.
Period.
Each day this cat fight plays out--is another day for John McCain to gain momentum and eventually kick our asses in the GE.
The man can't wait to get into Iran. It's sick.
I hope the collective unconscious of our party makes a decision and just goes with it---ending this thing once and for all.

13. I agree--I think the arguments that somehow "this is good for the party" |
|
is absolute bullshit. That's why the Limbaugh crossover vote, to keep the race going, is happening, right? Because it's "good" for Dems? That's why the media still pretends Hillary has a chance despite the math, because the hope is that scandal and negativity bring Obama down before he even makes it to the convention and that's good for TV ratings--is that good for Dems? I have never anticipated that there were such nutless wonders in our party, not to bring this to an end.

21. Yeah, it was awful how he compared himself to Jesse Jackson (of all people) |

winning the state, or how he referred to what he was "doin' in the hood" while Hillary was doing something worthwhile. Oh, wait...that was Hillary's husband and surrogates bringing up race and drug use out of the blue...never mind.

I am still predicting that by the time November rolls around the economy will be in such sad shape that either Obama or Clinton will win in a landslide.

I was speaking with my late mother's best friend the other day. She is 87 years old. I told her that I was worried about McCain.
Her reply was this: What! Are you kidding! Another 100 years in Iraq ... yeah right!! Do you really think that ANYONE in their right mind would vote for this crap? I don't think so!
That tells me a lot coming from an 87 year old woman that at times I must hold my breath with when she says some things. She is a bit of a racist yes, but she too is 100% behind OBAMA! Yes WE can folks, Yes we can and we WILL defeat the GOP be it Obama or Hillary Clinton! :D
