Obama in free fall: IT IS OVER.....
Edited on Wed Mar-19-08 02:43 PM by Greenwood
Don't think I have ever seen a politician freefall like Obama has. What amazes me is WHY DIDN'T HE DEAL WITH THE WRIGHT ISSUE EARLIER???? Distance himself COMPLETELY. The American public, for the most part, are a forgiving people and it would be over now except for the extreme right. But screw them--who cares?

I think Obama is a good and decent man but a man who cannot get elected President. Can he excite crowds? Yes. He is like a bright flame. It is inevitable it will dim, though. He has no experience, lots of questions, and big baggage. BIG BAGGAGE. He cannot win.

I have said for months now that Hillary represents our best chance to win the White House. That is a fact. This thing can get messy or foks can come together and do what our main objective is: Win.

I see down by 12, And he has always been down there.

The NC "tie" is a one day poll. Insignificant.

No free fall, except in your and the op's minds.

72. Obama's "baggage" only resonates artificially because of the media...

people will judge Obama more on how he deals with this, rather than the history of his dealings with Rezko. Kerry was run over by the swiftboating, but Obama has the ability to turn a negative into a positive for his campaign.

With respect to Pastor Wright, in case you hadn't noticed, numerous members of the Religious Right were preaching the "godamn America" message years ago with respect to matters that appealed to the religious right. Rather than condemn these people, Bush embraced them, and it certainly didn't harm his chances of becoming president. Pastor Wright's message was essentially anti-war, and a majority of people are now against the war in the Middle East and understand that message at a fundamental level, even if they don't fully agree with it.

I've always felt Super-delegates are there to stop the anti-establishment nominee from winning the Democratic ticket. (as Carter did)

The question, I've never been able to answer is, what % of super-delegates are Pro-Washington??? I feel Clinton is remaining in the race, because of her faith in Super-delegates to overturn the choice of the American people. Why else have Super-delegates in the first place???

PPP PA Poll: Clinton By 26
By Big Tent Democrat, Section Elections 2008
Posted on Tue Mar 18, 2008 at 09:33:00 PM EST

By Big Tent Democrat

I hope Obama's speech worked politically today, for the sake of the Democratic Party. It was certainly a beautiful speech.

Meanwhile, PPP released a PA poll today. It is not surprising that Clinton leads Obama by 40 points among whites. What is surprising is PPP's finding that Clinton gets 27 percent of the African American vote.

2rth2pwr, phonetically, is 'to earth to power', not 'truth to power' - that would be 2ruth2pwr - no, it wouldn't, because the 't' of 'two' is followed by the 'r' followed by the 'oo', and 2ruth would be toruthtopower.

Nevermind. Now that I've said it I think I can get past it.

cheers.

37. CNN Poll. 60 % says Obama does not have the right experience to be President,
The poll surveyed 1,019 adult Americans on March 14-16 and

...Obama is also the only candidate who a majority of Americans -- roughly 60 percent -- say does not have the right experience to be president, the poll showed.

That number is significantly higher than the 38 percent who say Clinton isn\'t experienced enough and the 31 percent who say the same for McCain.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/03/17/poll.democrats/

Fifty-two percent of registered Democrats questioned in a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey say the senator from Illinois is their choice for president, with 45 percent supporting Clinton.

The poll also suggests Democrats are more enthusiastic about an Obama victory (45 percent) than for a victory by the senator from New York (38 percent).

One of Greenwood's earlier posts supporting Cindy McCain:

She made a bad mistake...
Very proud of America. Not perfect.

53. Hillary will lose the General
Why are so many Republicans crossing over and voting for her? Troll the Freepers. They WANT her to win in the primary because they know she will LOSE in the general. She is a polarizing individual not just among Republicans and Independents, but even US.

Obama may not be able to beat McCain, but he stands more of a chance than Hillary ever will.

I voted for Hillary twice for Senator, but did not in this primary. I will stay home this November if her dirty politics make her the nominee. I don't see very much difference between her and McCain.

I am very sorry now I ever voted for her. Maybe if she never won NY, she would not have gotten this far.

58. Is this board not open to opinions?
Can I not state my opinion on this board?

Funny how some espouse that right only when it agrees with what they think.

My OPINION is Obama is in freefall. My OPINION is that Obama cannot win the GE. My OPINION is that Hillary give us (DEMOCRATS) the best change to win the GE.

Again, are some of you saying I cannot state my opinion?

75. I stated two facts
Edited on Wed Mar-19-08 03:34 PM by HockeyMom
Republicans are crossing over for her. THEY want her as our nominee so she will lose in the general. MSNBC even did a piece the other night on that Rush show asking his audience to vote for her. I am not making any of this up. Look it up. It is not an opinion. Exit polls show it. Do you really think Republicans are voting for Hillary because they want her to be President?

The other fact I stated is that I will not vote for her. I will stay home for the first time in 30 years of voting. Substract one vote for her in the general, among probably millions of other votes.

I lived under her Senate rule for years. That's enough for me.

I just got another email from Hillary asking for a donation to beat "Obama's fundraising campaign". I wrote to her a couple of times years ago and now am on her mailing list.

If its my opinion that the moon is made of green cheese and the world is flat, its my opinion but its not a valid opinion.

Just like your laughable non valid opinion that Obama is in freefall!

Hillary has zero chance to win in the GE for many reasons. For one she can not win enough delegates to overcome Obama's lead and get the nomination in the the first place.

92. If republicans had not crossed over for Obama in all those
open caucuses and primaries, he would be far behind Clinton right now. The pugs have been propping him up from the beginning. It's a fact, and polls have shown this to be true. After all, they had to pick our candidate, and it's obvious which one they picked. Now, we just have to pull even more for Hillary.

I can say she wore a nice looking yellow suit when McCain won the nominee spot. That doesn't mean I like her or dislike her. At the same time, her very light blue eyes sort of creep me out. That doesn't mean I like her or dislike her either. She can't help her eye color. The fact is, I know very little about her other than she's a lot younger than he is and I think she had a drug problem. I have no opinion on her at all other than she strikes me as Mamie Eisenhower in her demeanor.

has this political blog and they had the Republican strategists talking about Obama/Wright today. They are salivating over this matter; basically they view this as a gift from heaven that just dropped in their laps. They had quotes from the guy who did the Swiftboat ads against Kerry, Limbaugh, etal. The Republicans will play this issue up until the day of the general election; there's no getting around it. They will play up the Imus matter, the uniter matter, the anti-white and anti-USA stuff, the AIDS quote, etc.; they will have a field day. They intend for McCain never to bring it up so he appears not to go negative.
