Wow! Obama is coming to Portland, OR on Friday. It was evidently |
|
announced last night, I heard it on the radio on my way to work and when I went to check about tickets on my lunch hour, all the tickets are gone! It's being held at Memorial Coliseum, which, depending on how it is configured, can seat up to 13,000.
Sounds like he will have a great reception here. Our primary isn't until May 20th, so I'm hoping I'll get another chance to see him.

10. Actually, if Rev. Wright was appearing, I would be happy to listen to |
|
him. I'm not close-minded and hate-filled like so many who have their own personal fear of Rev. Wright.

26. Maybe he is. Don't worry, Hillary rented out the local Bingo hall for her speech so her base |

could kill two birds with one stone.

15. He was a big hit here today in Fayetteville NC too. A large crowd and |
|
they had nothing but praise for his speech on unity. Unity for the country and, oh yes, he did mention something about Hillary and McCain's unity on the Iraq war. They all loved him.:toast: :toast: :toast: :toast: :toast:

I went to college at Humboldt State, which is as close to Oregon as you can get and still be at a University.
For some reason I saw Oregon as a difficult battle. I'm glad to hear it's progressive enough to give Obama a nice victory! Hopefully you can compete with Washington's results!!

I got some overtime this week so I can afford the gas to go to Portland. I'm not an Obama supporter but I'd love to see the crowds and revel in the camaraderie of a large political gathering. In Portland these things attract a lot of different people trying to get their own message out so it wouldn't be a problem for me if I couldn't get inside to hear him.

Doesn't he know that he's supposed to kiss the feet of the people of Pennsylvania and shower them with roses? How dare he go to Oregon.

Obama has a lot of support from the Blazers & the Rose Garden. Also, on that grain silo that sits next to the Steele Bridge where the Blazers have their team logo and beneath it it says "Rise With Us"--every time I see that I think of Obama.
I'm going to be there--don't know if I'll be able to get inside. I'll try to get pics.

32. Even thou my family supports Hillary, |
|
we got tickets to see Obama in person. Since my spouse works for the City of Portland we got our tickets early this morning before others. My spouse is taking our boys to see Obama just in case he become our first African American President. So whether you support him or Hillary I would say go see both, if you can. The Democratic Party will make history this Nov.:dem:
