1. Give it up
Hillary will not be the nominee.

No way .... no how ... end of story .... she is finished.

The only thing she is doing is hurting Obama in the
general election.

2. Then he should be doing much better in the match ups. Why isn't he?
Oh yeah, it's Hillary's fault.

If that were the case he would be shutting her out and he just ain't.

4. I have that person on ignore but I can guess what was said
When presented with the increasing evidence that Obama's electability is tanking they just ignore it and cling to their "belief" he is more electable.

6. Obama has been kicking her ass from the get go:
He has more votes, delegates, states, and now super delegates.

Both Texas and Ohio had massive cross over voting that helped
Clinton. Even with that Obama won Texas (most delegates),
he will pick up another 2 or 3 from Ohio (uncounted provisional
ballots), and he just picked up 15 or 16 more delegates from Iowa
and California last weekend.

If Obama had lost as many states and was as far down as Hillary
the calls for him to quit would be massive.

Hillary sticking it out now says everything I need to know
about her.

33. these polls don't matter between our person and mccain. its in the
matchup that they matter. you act as if mccain was a good candidate and not the tired old warmongering dimwit that he is. Who is going to support a candidate that wants a million year war with EVERYONE in the world?

3. Another poll showing Obama losing Ohio badly. His electability is tanking
Obama does 12 points worse in MS, 13 worse in OHIO, and 26 points worse in Kentucky. The evidence keeps rolling in: his electability is tanking.

28% in Kentucky? No Dem should be that fucking low, even in KY. Kerry got 40% and Gore 41% while Clinton won it twice.

17. Wrong. Her electability numbers held steady during that time
In fact she has gradually improved against the rethugs since the campaign began last year; Obama has went from big leads to this.

PLEASE make a notation that the polls you speak of have data collection prior to Sen Obama's 3/18 speech:

13. Hillary will destroy McCain-- just like Dukakis destroyed Bush in '88
GENERAL ELECTION POLLS IN MARCH ARE WORTHLESS!!!!

Dukakis probably felt like he had the election in the bag in March of 1988, too.

We need to focus on nominating the best person to be our nominee. November will take care of itself.

Edited on Wed Mar-19-08 03:40 PM by jackson_dem
Dukakis led by 17 as late as August. Obama is already losing...

Obama also has deep problems, such as hemorrhaging a large share of even Democratic voters. That didn't work for Mondale did it?

:o

As for the speech and its effects, I think it was a Gallup poll which indicated 66% say it had no effect. I don't know how many it affected positively/negatively.

22. bummer numbers, but really only KY matters at this point
The only really relevant number there is Kentucky, which indicates that Clinton will likely (though not surprisingly) win there, if the race continues until May 20.

The other matchups don't tell us anything inasmuch as the election is 8 months off.

Even without Hillary Clinton around. We want it bad this time around and we've got all kinds of people who have never voted before (which is why they don't show up in polls of likely voters).
