I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN!!!
After the Texas and Ohio Primaries, I posted that something would happen which was much, much worse than the internecine warfare among Democrats.

Was it worsening of the economy? NO!

Was it worsening of the war effort in Iraq? NO!

Was it about an impending invasion of Iran? NO!

Was it about the "Pay for Luv Guv"? NO!

Much much worse...

It was that with the Pennsylvania Primary 7 weeks from that particular super-Tuesday, that Tweety would be referring to his "Philly roots" non-stop.

And I was right:

I have personally heard about:

"My home town Philly" at least 55 times
Soft Pretzels
Phillies
Eagles
Flyers
Sixers
Geno's Steaks
Pat's Steaks
Jim's Steaks
Hoagies
Philly shuffle (WTF is THAT?)
Mayor Frank Rizzo
Mayor Bill Green
Mayor Michael Nutter
Mayor Wilson Goode
Mayor and now Governor Ed Rendell (he calls him 'Eddy')
Federal Judiciary - 3rd Circuit Court
Independence Hall
Betsy Ross House
Market Street
Arch Street
Pattison Avenue
Schuylkill Expressway
Philadelphia Inquirer
Philadelphia Daily News
Philadelphia Tribune
Philadelphia Bulletin
John Wanamaker's
Jenkintown
SEPTA
MOVE
Julius Erving
Allan Iverson
Delaware County
Bucks County
Montgomery County
Chester County
Norristown
Chester
The Main Line
Kensington
Fishtown
Mummers
Two Streeters
...and on and on...

It is just reprehensible that this guy, who no one in this town will claim as a former or present friend, who is a stranger as far as we're concerned, takes credit for 'Being There'.

10. My fave... fresh hot pretzels from the Amish Market
in Reading Terminal with some kind of cheez-like product squirted on top.

I was just in Philly for the first time in about ten years and that's the first thing I went for.
Yummy.

5. The Franklin Institute...
You mentioned them, but Phila. PRETZELS mmmmmm, anyone have a good (and authentic) recipe? My Dad grew up in Philly and remembers them at 5 cents each. When I was little we lived in southern NJ and I remember shopping at John Wanamaker's. Sorry, guess you didn't want to be reminded.

7. Of course I like to talk about us
with legit folk from here...or even people who just love us for...whatever.

what pisses me off about Tweety is that he's such a phony and made no mark here at all whatsoever in broadcasting or in the public service. What a moran.

BTW: you can't make the pretzels at home...your oven won't do the trick...and The Franklin Institute has had a complete makeover and is almost unrecognizable...and Wanamaker's of course, is gone. Very sad.

Mumia's still kickin' around though!
