Speech:
"a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe."
Book:
His grandmother didn't want to take the bus because she had been harassed by a panhandler at the bus stop:
"Her lips pursed with irritation. 'He was very aggressive, Barry. Very aggressive. I gave him a dollar and he kept asking. If the bus hadn't come, I think he might have hit me over the head."
Obamas Grandad didn't want to give her a ride to work and he tells Barack it's because the pan handler was black:
"He turned around and I saw that he was shaking. 'It is a big deal. It's a big deal to me. She's been bothered by men before. You know why she's so scared this time. I'll tell you why. Before you came in, she told me the fella was black.' He whispered the word. 'That's the real reason why she's bothered. And I just don't think that right."
He cannot give a straight, true story. He is a panderer of the worse kind.

14. No, I am not new to politics. With O, it is just that nothing rings true. I have never |

been one to be inspired by a politician. I think people who are, are probably new to politics.
When I see someone given the status he has been given, with not one shred of criticism, questioning or vetting, before buying the farm, it makes me very nervous. You might say, that I have been doing my own vetting since NH.
I don't hate him, I do dislike him, but I will vote for him in the GE if he is the nominee, if that helps at all.

27. No, it is not a fair inference. there is more than one black man in the world |
|
inferring that there was only one that she ever came into contact with is insane
Also he said that she loved him, sacrificed for him, etc etc etc
also said that she was part of him etc etc etc
no slack need be cut. he loves his grandmother despite her imperfections.

Of course, I cannot prove 100 percent, she didn't say something before, but I am almost 100 percent certain he was referring to this passage. He mentioned other passages from his book in the speech as well. He quoted those verbatim though and misled with this one.

|
Why do you assume this one story is the only episode related to race regarding his grandparents?
Is it stretching the imagination to think that over the course of many years, it came up more than once. Especially since she is white and he is half-Black?
Your irrational desire to find any reason to diss Obama may be clouding your judgement.

She had confided to her husband that she was afraid because he was black, or cited it as a reason. It's there in the text. Whether or not the panhandler had "bothered" her is moot. She had laid her motivation bare to her husband.
