12. how can you tell the pronunciation from reading a book? I just tend to try and recognize the names o...
most characters and don't even try to pronounce them. (mostly in Silmarillion and Lost Lore) Not that I have read them in the last two decades that is, I am old now

14. Tokien included his own appenidices of pronunciation of many names and words.
However, I do not believe that "Took" was one of the ones that he made clear.

So without some proof...
