Why do we continue to lose the battle?
While Obama is getting vetted (see skewered), John McCain is hanging out with a hate mongering preacher in John Hagee and making ridiculous gaffes in speeches. Sean Hannity and every other right-wing blowhard are on this pastorgate thing 24-7, and I've heard nary a peep about McCain/Hagee. Hagee is a nut case, a total lunatic, and yet our candidates and more imporantly our party braintrust has said next to nothing about him. How about we start digging around for Hagee's ridiculous comments and we get them out there? Every presidential election cycle we're playing defense. The last thing we needed was a prolonged primary fight this time around, and the candidates are now so caught up in running against each other that they're doing McCain's work for him. Why isn't somebody, anybody on our side, hitting McCain? If McCain were a democrat he'd get destroyed. He's a tired, angry, dull, old man who isn't uniquely bright or talented. He'd be a layup for the GOP to defeat if the roles were reversed. Frustrating.

6. I tend to agree..........
though I won't include Dean in that. The Dem establishment is clueless and gutless. Time they start to stand for something.

7. People are afraid that if they recognize other peoples' pain
somehow their own pain will be devalued. People think that if they make a place at the American table for someone else, there will be no place for them. Someone, and it think it may be Obama, needs to show them that there is room for everyone here. The Republicans play musical chairs with peoples' lives and their futures and as everyone knows, someone always ends up without a seat.
