RezkoWatch FactChecker: Klein: Obama yanked Black Panther subdomain

::reported March 18, 2008, that the New Black Panther Party (NBPP) maintained a page within the official website of 2008 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.). On the evening of March 19, 2008, Klein reported Obama's campaign had "yank from its official website ... an endorsement from the black supremacist" NBPP. According to NBPP's national chairman, Klein reported, it "was for 'understandable political reasons'."

"'It's the game of politics,' the NBPP's Malik Zulu Shabazz told WND. 'The Obama camp's move to remove our blog doesn't mean much because I understand politics. We still completely support Obama as the best candidate.'

"Shabbaz, who has given scores of speeches condemning 'white men' and Jews, stated today Obama 'is the best guy to bring the kinds of racial changes supported by our community at the New Black Panthers'," Klein wrote.

But following publicity about the web posting, Obama's campaign removed the NBPP page.

"It's our policy with any content generated by a group that advocates violence," explained Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor to FoxNews.com.

Before the campaign removed the party's page, Obama spokeswoman Tiffany Edwards told FoxNews.com that section of the website "has nothing to do with us."

"People can form their own groups," she said. "It's not something that the campaign – it's not something that we've done."

An astute RezkoWatcher pointed out that the NBPP could only maintain a page at BarackObama.com—the "Official Website of Barack Obama 2008 Presidential Campaign"—with the permission of the Obama campaign. This Whois search for the domain name BarackObama.com clearly shows ownership, as well as identifies MoveOn.org as a "related site". The "New Black Panther Party" page is a subdomain of the official website; only the owner (or authorized web person) of the site can create a subdomain. It is directly on (i.e. part of) Obama's web site..

how do you explain this?

Looking through the links on rezkowatch, (all which point to WorldNetDaily articles by the way :eyes: ), there is *mention* of a subdomain, but no actual statement of what the subdomain is. There is a link to the now-deleted blog page:

42. cali, I went and looked to see what I could find about it and I did find the images on Obama's site.

Then a spokesperson named Tommy Vietor(sp)from Obama's campaign spoke and said they took the image down. Then they interviewed Malik Shabizz, the man who calls himself a Black Panther and said he does support and endorsed Obama. Thats all I know and from looking they have taken the image down from Obama's site.

Does anyone know who Tommy Vietor or Malik Shabizz is? I have never heard of them?
