Everyone says if you don't like the way things are you can vote. That's what I always hear from my republican friends when I complain about the way things are. Well, by the time we get to vote our choices are what the corporate powers want our choices to be. Kerry/Bush not Dean/Bush. Clinton/Bush not Obama/Bush. Obama said something in his speech on race the other day that made me think. He said something like "this time" we didn't have to be manipulated by the pundits and the media who would play the tape over and over again to stir the pot. This time we should reject the push to cave into what THEY say is an electable candidate. This time we should keep pushing for the most progressive candidate we have to choose right now and we know that is Obama. This time we will not let the media tell us who we should pick. This time we should rise up in mass and reject the media and the corporate control over our elections. This time we will pick our own candidate even if he screams, even if, god forbid, his preacher makes some fiery comments. This time we will make a difference. The time is now. This is our time.

1. so you will not let the party tell you who to vote for? |
|
if the nominee is not your choice, then what will you do to make a difference, to pick your own candidate, to reject the media.
What are you going to do if you candidate is not nominated?

2. If my candidate is not nominated I'm thinking about writing in |
|
Al Gore. Then I really would have voted for who I want for president. I might write in Kucinich as he actually ran and was my first choice then. I plan to push hard in my state for instant run off elections as they are much more fair. That way people wouldn't be afraid of throwing away their votes.

3. well . . . I am actually planning a write-in myself |
|
for JE - my first choice.
I am from Florida - and the party has decided they do not care who I would vote for in the primary. So I will probably just write-in my choice at the GE.

How can we make it happen? I'm sure the corporate power would fight this. It would be hard to bet passed as law. But, we really need it now.

5. not only the corporate powers - but the parties would fight it as well |
|
the party did not want JE, or DK. They will not give up their power to truly select the nominee. . . . and give the voters the illusion that they actually matter.

7. Exactly, until america gets its head out of its ass and starts nominating |
|
people based on the person they are in "real" life, all we get is a beauty contest with people telling us what we want to hear instead of what we need to hear, then put it into action. Some times ( most of my 51 years it has been this way ) the choice comes down to either voting for a douche bag or a turd sandwich. Come on, Dean screamed and that ruined his chances? Duke and the tank dork drive? How petty is that? Then we were left with Kerry who wouldn't stand up to the neo con swift boat liers, so instead of getting his message out, he spent more time defending his past and the brain dead out there said Kerry had no message nor did the Democratic party have a message. Then the pukes put the gay marriage act out, instead of asking what effect would gays marrying have on hetro's marriages, we were stuck with endles hours of Kerry defending his military past, playing into the puke smear, queer and fear tactics. Kerry should have focused on how pukes were using fear to control america and allowing pukes to steal the american voting process with Diebolds help.
Until a Dem stands up and says "I am sick and tired of being afraid of what might be thats keeping me from making America what it could be", we are going to continue to lose out to the pukes smear, fear, queer tactics. America the home of the brave? Not in my life time, all I see are a bunch of scared sheep, criminals behind every bush, terrorists behind every building and there ought to be a law to protect me from harm types, voting for people that tell them what they want to hear, "big bro will protect you from the bad things in life". Yeah right, by taking your job away, denying you health care and spending your tax dollars to help those who need no help.
