Obama Ratings HIT!!! Schedule stays Packed
"For the past few days, Sen. Barack Obama has been ratings gold. On Friday, it was FNC. Last night, it was ABC. Tonight, he'll be on with Anderson Cooper on CNN.

Yesterday afternoon, huge numbers turned out to watch Obama's speech on race relations, with the 11amET hour garnering more than four million Total Viewers between FNC, CNN and MSNBC combined. FNC won with 2,061,000 viewers, compared to 1,291,000 for CNN and 978,000 for MSNBC (which took the average from 10:53-11:31amET).

Tomorrow night, Obama is booked for Larry King Live on CNN at 9pmET for the full hour. And save the date — just a couple hours ago, Obama was confirmed as a guest on ABC's The View on March 28."

28. Is Hasselbeck still on there?
I can't even watch clips of that malfunctioning robot, let alone the whole show.

3. I hope he'll do a sit down with Keith, I'd love to see Keith's ratings
shoot through the roof, and it will be good for Obama as well. MSNBC really needs to be on basic cable.

5. Nobody is watching Keith anymore except the Obamabots
Keith is the laughing stock of journalism now

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nA3v7ON5XdA

His viewership has sunk not just because of the overt partisanship -- its the unprecidented hypocrisy.

11. Yeah, I know....you've all moved over to Fox now.
And say what you will, Keith is not a hypocrite. He's been against this war from the start, and has been targeted because he was willing to say so. So it seems quite natural to most of us, that he would not now turn around and support one of it's enablers. He has made quite clear that he was always an admirer of both Clintons, but he has been vehemently opposed to the outlandish tactics employed by the Clintons.

I'm sure Keith knew the risks of taking a principled stand, something many progressives have been unwilling to do, but he has survived the hit jobs from the right, and he'll get through this as well.

I never thought I'd see the day when Clintonites and Fox News (of all people) would join forces to take down a progressive news program. Strange bedfellows, indeed.

16. Good lord.
I guess Fox News, Bill OReilly, Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity are picking it up for him right?

You just never really liked progressives much, did you?

It will take me a long time to forgive Keith for his vile rantings towards Clinton.

20. I'm sure Keith will get over it.......
:nopity:

I don't know why you guys are complaining. You've got the whole of corporate media trying to take Obama down, while promoting Hillary. Keith is one show, on one cable network. You've got the whole of (C)linton (N)ews (N)etwork; (A)ll (B)ill (C)linton; (N)othing (B)ut (C)linton; and now, even Fox. Those of us who want some diversion from that have Keith, and that's it.

Get over yourself.......

17. This is one of the reasons Obama is unstoppable in the GE
People are drawn to him.

He'll always have ratings. People like to hear what he has to say, and even when they disagree, they can find something that resonates.

15. Obama's appearance on "the View" will be for him what Arsenio/Saxophone was for Bubba.....

If you remember the 1992 campaign..... Bubba was in trouble.... polling well behind both Bush AND Perot in the spring. He was something like 25%.

Then he went on Arsenio. Laid back. Was himself. Played the saxophone.

...and things began to change among a key demographic (young people and blacks) where he wasn't doing as well as he wanted.

Obama's appearance on "the View" could do the same for him. Lots of white soccer moms, when they see him interacting with the women on their favorite show...

Just a thought...

I used to live in Pgh. back in the 80's, I hear it's changed a lot since then. Went from Edgewood -> Monroeville -> Squirrel Hill, and worked in Shadyside. I'm gonna have to get back there someday. God, I miss that place.

26. I'll only come back if I can live in Bethel Park.....
Edited on Thu Mar-20-08 11:15 AM by Tarheel_Dem

Just kidding. But I would so love to move back there. I miss all the excitement and culture Pgh had to offer. I wish I could get back there to help out in PA, but we've got a primary on May 6th that may actually mean something this time. Obama was way out in front for a long time, but a Hill supporter was bragging that it's a deadheat now. So we've got some work to do here in NC as well. Obama's been showing up in interviews on the local news here, and he just shines. I think he'll do way better than polls predict.

My boss (CEO) just grabbed me in the parking lot and told me she had finally made her decision. She had been wavering between the two, but after Obama's speech on race, she's firmly in his camp now. Her husband, however, has been there all along. Got an email from my direct superior (CFO) yesterday, with pretty much the same reaction to the speech. I don't know when it will show up in the polls, but I think this whole saga will be a net positive for Obama.

27. bi--baby, someday we'll all have to have DU meetup in Pgh....
I just had two friends to get married and move back there a couple of years ago, and they absolutely love it. His practice is in Greensburg. It's a mixed marriage (LOL), she's Italian & he's a WASP. Both lifelong Dems, and both Obama supporters.

Did I already say...God, I miss that place?
