Don't think I can hack it much longer...
I'm a short timer here obviously, and do not presume to think my being here or not makes any difference to some if not most here. But, I honestly don't think I can hack it here, at least for the short term. I come here now a'days and the only thing I get for my troubles is usually.. an upset stomach.

All I see here now is hate or dislike.. attacks that begin on each other's candidates, but usually end up being attacks on the posters themselves. I sit here sometimes and wonder if I haven't accidentally came across a republican website rather than a Democrat one. I dunno.. maybe all this is normal as some have said and will pass with time, but I think I will continue my trend and limit my time here until then.

Don't get me wrong please, I do like coming here and throughly enjoy discussing things with many of this places members, but I have to deal with enough negative things in my daily life to do so here as well. So, I shall still come, but not daily, and I'll hope things calm down after the primaries are over I guess.

Peace. LK

1. It will change. It will get better.
Change is the one true constant.

I think the convention period will be really exciting here.

3. The board is split
2 distinct camps, the problem I see is, if I support Hillary until the end, I am not for change, I am not for hope I must vote for Obama beacuse of " ". Then there is constant attacks on Hillary, which is actually pushing me farther away from Obama, as it is probably pushing moderates and undecideds off the edge to.

If Obama came on here and spewed half od what the Oompas spew, I would be shocked. But this is indicitive of the followers pushing the limits of what this election is about.

It seems they cannot win on Obama's record, experience or policy, they must bash into support. I won't do that.

5. Why are you in the OP's post doing exactly what he was talking about?
He didn't mention Hillary or Obama in his OP. He's been here long enough to know what goes on here, thus the reason for his post. Seems you want to turn his thread into the type of post he abhors.

6. why do you hate hate?
It's the endemic on this board.

Seriously, it might be like that 1984 ritual. A typical thread is a story about Bush, or Larry Craig, or some other Republican who did or said something stupid. Then the group responds with replies about how much they hate whoever is the subject of the OP. Then there are similar stories from the media look at the story of this child abuser, this rapist, this pedophile, and join me in the outrage and the feeling of superiority. Look at this ignorant rightwing bigot, a talibornigain, a freeper, and marvel at the sheer stupidity of what they said.

From sociology that is one form of maintaining group unity - hatred of others who are outside the group. That's what brings us all together - because we are not like 'them'. It becomes difficult when there are a bunch of 'them' actually in the group. Then it becomes closer to a low-grade civil war.

8. Stay out of GP:Primaries
Hang out in GD & the other forums, you'll find it a much less upsetting experience.

Welcome to DU! It's not always this bad.
