(O+ post) Does the Wright issue change the possibility of a split ticket?
As I said I'm pro-O (O+) - But I'm wondering if now it is really "all or nothing" for Obama. Before, I could easily see two scenarios. In the preferred scenario, where he is nominated, it never made sense for Hillary to be on the Ticket with him, as she would be seen to (sadly) add more baggage than benefit.

But, in the alternate senario, if Hillary got nominated, I considered it a virtual guarantee that Obama would be picked for VP. He brought little baggage, and a much needed breath of fresh air and enthusiasm that is just not present in Hillary's campaign (or any other campaign for that matter).

Now, I think the equation has changed. The truth is, they now BOTH have "baggage" to deal with. A combination of EITHER of them could be a bad formula.

So, I guess what I'm wondering is - Who (or what type of person) do you all think would be the best VP for either a Hillary or Obama nomination?

Hillary + I really don't know. Maybe Edwards? Maybe an 'unknown'? Maybe a very religious dem? A war hero to offset McCain?

Barack + Some old white southern guy. Pref. war hero. This one seems easy right now.

What say ye.

4. I think it could be Obama/Clinton, but not the reverse.
If there is enough damage for him to lose the nom, it will be enough to prevent him from being Veep as well. Not sure who other than Hillary would get the Veep. She's the logical choice.

I think it will be Hillary + Edwards if Obama is out. No logical reason why at all. Just intuition. :)

5. No, I think Hill wants to be POTUS and she would be running the entire time
she was VP, and he would have to keep looking over his shoulder at Hlll and Bill.

8. I truly believe Rev. Wright has changed the whole scenario. If HRC gets
the nod should she ask BO to run as VP to unify the base and gain much needed support? Possibly but at what cost? Will the joint ticket be able to withstand the 527 onslaught which is now a matter of when not if.

If by some chance BO can rise past this thing and win the nomination, he'll need someone tried and true and red, white and blue - Wes Clark, Jim Webb, etc. These types are able to counter the military background of McCain and ground BO with the mass electorate as opposed to only his base.

9. Right..
Before I think it was a slam dunk that H would practically plead with O to be her VP. But, as somebody else here said - at this point, if he is damaged enough to lose the nomination - he is probably too (freshly) damaged to add as a VP.

I do like Clark as a VP for either, but as excited as I was about him in 2004, I found him to be a less than stellar campaigner / debater.
