Wes Clark Dems: Nat'l Security WesPac & 5/24 NYC Event

"Recently my top priority has been to support John Kerry's campaign to defeat George W. Bush and I have worked hard to do everything I can to see it done. I am proud to have made dozens of media apearances for Senator Kerry, and I have committed to travel the country for him.

"Going forward, I intend to form a results-oriented political action committee. I'm calling it WesPAC-Securing America's Future. WesPAC's dual purpose is to (1) elect Democrats to the White House and Congress; and (2) provide leadership on U.S. National Security. I will campaign throughout the country to an electorate that is looking for responsible leadership with strong security credentials and solid judgment. My belief is that I can help convince concerned voters to elect Democrats and to demand responsible leadership and sound national security policies. As we all know a strong turnout and support for Democrats across the country will help elect Senator Kerry and defeat George Bush. Apart from the PAC, I will also continue to campaign and speak on behalf of Senator Kerry.

"The PAC provides the best vehicle for me to continue to shed light on this administration's national security failures and irresponsible foreign policy--a constant veil-lifting that will be increasingly important as the Bush/Cheney team floods the airwaves with over $200 million in paid advertising and aggressive get out the vote efforts.

"I will leverage my 34-year military career to ensure that the Republicans will never again effectively attack Democrats as "weak on defense" or "weak on national security": or somehow "lacking in patriotism." The Place is Park Avenue Country Club in Manhattan,: the time to start gathering is about 7:30. Donations start at $50.00. It's a cash bar. I can't help anyone with hotels. Sorry.

There is no confirmation or tickets. You will be on a list at Check-in at the event which starts at 7:30. If there is a problem, ask for me, Joan Jarowski. There will be a cash bar and after the event bloggers may party together as long as they want. Note that a contribution of $250+ entitles you to a private reception with The General after 8:30.

Also note that contributions through the WesPAC2004 site are separate from donations to the May 24 event. Looking forward to meeting bloggers on May 24.
