Callout in reverse for a few Clinton supporters. |
|
I wanted to thank joshcryer and SaveOurDemocracy in particular for condemning the post containing the op-ed from Michelle Malkin.
It's heartening to see that some Clinton supporters saw fit to call hate hate.
And let me appeal to both sides here. We all know when a post is over the top, and DUers usually make their voices known when an extreme post shows up.
The problem here in GDP is that partisans on both sides are willing to let mean, untrue, or right-wing-sourced posts go without comment. And since the level of discourse here is beyond rationality, if an Obama supporter calls out an extreme Clinton post (or vice versa), 95% of the time they're attacked for it.
So my suggestion to try and clean up some of the mess in here is police your own. At this rate, neither candidate will lose rhetorical points because the hate posts are being posted only to incite further argument.
So please keep an eye out and if somebody on your side posts something objectionable, let them know.
I'll probably get flamed for this, so if you're going to flame me, let me give you a hearty pre-emptive 'go screw yourself.' We gotta reverse this animosity sometime, because it's gonna murder us in the general. And you partisans on both sides are gonna have to make it happen.

2. I'm sorry. There's not enough outrageous hyperbole here |
|
Your post will sink like a stone because you call for rationality.
Shoulda had "Go screw yourself" in the title -- that would have garnered some excitement. :-)
Ahem, back to your post. Yes, I agree we should police our own. Good idea.

6. You're right. Shoulda thought of that. |

Ah, well. I still have 2 posts to burn today. Maybe I'll think up some catchy title with 'Hillbot' and 'Obamabay' and 'racism' and 'sexism' in it and try again. :D

3. I agree - oppose the opposition for what they DID do not what the RW lied about. |

but my trigger is probably set way too high for a lot of Obama supporters. I say that because just mentioning discomfort with Wright is enough to get put on ignore, as is almost any criticism, even when it's far milder than many anti-HRC ones. I've been keeping an asshole list and there are over 100 BO supporters there and less than a dozen on the other side. Maybe because despite everything, it's hard not to be biased towards your own side.

8. Calling out their side |
|
Okay...someone posted to the obamites to post something that they didn't like about their candidate. What the responses were....as far as I read before I vomited...too skinny, too tall, ears too big, skinny legs...etc. Nothing substantive. Nice idea but I really don't want to hear about obama's ears and legs too much.
