If it looks like a duck and smells like a duck... It could be an Elephant. |

I keep reading all these polls on here asking if your candidate does not win, are you going to vote for the opposing one, vote for McCain or just not vote at all.
What is really funny, is that we already know the answers; these numbers are all over the place.
10% of Obama's supporters say they will not vote for Hillary if she is the candidate.
25% of Hillary's supporters say they will not vote for Obama if he is the candidate.
Now, the supporters on both sides give very different reasons for making these statements. Let's examine those.
Obama supporters who say they will not vote for Hillary if she get the nomination all pretty much say the same thing. It is wrong for the super delegates to overturn the will of the people, and they will not vote for her out of conscious. They do not feel it is democratic; what is the point of voting if your vote doesn't count, and that it would be just like when Bush was installed as president.
Some of you think that is just stupid rationale; letting ethics and morals get in the way of the political process.
On the other hand, Hillary's supporters say "there is just something about him" and that they "can't quite put their finger on it."
Hmmm... I wonder what it is about him that they can't put their fingers on? They never say it's about the issues; so it CAN'T be that. So, that leaves me to believe that the majority of THAT 25% is either racist or are really just republicans in disguise.
Quite honestly, both possibilities disgust me, but I would rather believe that they are republicans, rather than racists.
Now, the 75% of Hillary supporters, and the 90% of Obama supporters who all say they will vote for the opposition if need should have no problem with this post. So, since we are all in agreement, how about we try something.
You 75% of "real" democrats on Hillary's side and you 90% of "real" democrats on Obama's side do your best to make sure that YOUR constituents vote for WHOEVER the democratic nominee is this fall.
(Provided they actually WIN the nomination and aren't just anointed. I say this because after the Wright thing, I really do believe that Hillary could catch up in pledged delegates.)
Any thing else is just undemocratic.

23. Yes, you can't be rational any more. |
|
You have to pick a side, and if you DO pick a side, you have to ignore anything your candidate has done that might be wrong.
I'm sorry, but I pride myself on my ability to admit when I have made a mistake, as well as the ability to recognize that my candidate is not perfect.
However, I have learned that on DU, or at least in this area, that is not allowed.

"Hmmmmm I can't quite put my finger on it. They have the same positions on everything, they've even admitted that in debates. There's very little difference. But I just can't put my finger on why I can't vote for him." - Hillary's 25%

|
Edited on Thu Mar-20-08 04:56 PM by demdog78
Otherwise, I fail to see your problem here. I didn't make a single disparaging comment Hillary or the 75% of her supporters who are REAL democrats.
It can't be about the issues; they are pretty much the same there. So yes, it is either race or repug. Which are you?

There is a difference.

25. And you are blatantly ignorant yet again. |

If you will vote for whoever the nominee is, then it doesn't apply to you. It applies to the 25% that says they will not vote for Obama IF he wins the nomination.
Do you have some valid links and reasons I have not mentioned? I'm not making this stuff up. We've all heard it. Don't pretend.
If you are going to come on here and spread a bunch of bullshit, back it up with some links.
Otherwise, you prove yourself to be just another ignorant paid Hillary shill who is here to do nothing else but disrupt what was an intelligent conversation.

And hey bub, here's a clue for you: I don't need to be in the 25% in order to call you out for your bullshit logic and closed minded view. And you say I'm spreading bullshit? Pssssstttt, hey, c'mere.... I ain't the one issuing monumentally short sighted and ignorant broad brush accusations against groups of people.
Oh, and paid hillary shill? ROFLMAO!!!!! I just caught that part! Oh my you're even more ignorant in perception than I thought!!!!

28. So I'm right. You really don't have anything of substance to say. |

I didn't really think you did, but I figured I'd give you a chance to prove yourself to be something other than a person completely lacking any substance.
I have read post after post from you today offering nothing but rude comebacks. You don't address any of the OP's points, an just try to spin everything while you toss out insults.
Conversing with you is a complete waste of time. You offer not one original thought, and are unwilling to even consider anyone else's point of view.
I should have left you on ignore.

29. I Did Address Your Points. They're Ignorant, Short Sighted, Narrow Minded, And Silly. |
|
Edited on Thu Mar-20-08 05:56 PM by OPERATIONMINDCRIME
To declare that this group of people are either this or that, shows total binary thinking and a complete ignorance on the part of the person making the declaration. Your logic is monumentally flawed. And no, I don't consider points of views that are narrow minded and ignorant. Your assertion is false on its face, so no real further discussion is necessary. To 'consider' your point of view, there would have to be the potential of your point having some legitimacy. It doesn't. It's just flawed ignorant logic. There really is nothing further to discuss pal. :hi:
