Thursday Campaign Comparison
Obama: Yesterday, he made what will likely be a long-remembered speech that touched on racism with a maturity and honesty rarely seen in politics. He was non-confrontational, honest, real. He has been successful for the most part in elevating politics to a discussion rather than a string of barbs or nitpicking attempts to trip people up. His statement on racism was complex, yet clear, and it has now been said. Therefore, today, he switched gears completely and sidestepped Clinton altogether to discuss the economy and how he would improve that particular Bush mess, with the focus on contrast with McCain. He is looking forward and this speech today made some very good points, but was also timed brilliantly.

Clinton: Nitpicking barbs from Ferraro aimed at Obama in stark ironic contrast to his speech from the day before. Clinton herself continues to try to rustle up more votes in Michigan, playing numbers games.
